I'm doing a mock draft with 31 others where we each have a team, and I of course have Pittsburgh. We just finished up the first round and I've taken William Beatty.
I already have a few names in mind for the second round, but just lemme know who you want.

Hey Ben:
I know this is all in fun. But can you post what the other teams drafted ? that way we can better evaluate your selection of Beatty. It's not that I don't like the kid. I have seen some scouts rank him in the 24th to 28th best player, well before we draft at 32. And I have seen him ranked 8 to 10 picks into round 2. As for selection 64, it depends. I guess the depth will be at S and DB, maybe even DT as where not alot of DT's are considered late 1st rounders after the initial few. I love Texas Roy Miller. However the thought right now is that he's at best a 3rd rounder if he does well in workouts, and maybe even a 4th rounder even if he does. Michigan DT Taylor is rising up the draft according to reports from some respected draft experts. And the steelers have not only Interviewed taylor, but have a history of Michigan players come draft time. He might be a consideration for you. Hope that helps. |

I have a vast knowledge regarding the draft, but I know a lot of you guys do as well, and so I was seeing who you would like to see in the second.

...and Rey Maualuga went low.
Jarron Gilbert is the best If he's there IMO. Some other defensive line guys such as Fili Moala, Ron Brace could be good here. Duke Robinson OG might be a good choice but OG can be had at the end of round 3. |

Big7, I may have went with a gut like Britton at OT if available before Beatty.
There are also quite a few guys sliding who will be picked up in the early 2nd. This will obviously change the availibility by 64. Aaron Maybin, James Laurinaitis, Larry English, Chris Wells Quote:

Nice job on the mock Big7.
I am just wondering what the thought is on Philly not taking an OT in round 1?? I've seen a lot of sites, including an Eagles beat reporter saying they now have no LT with Tra Thomas gone and their RT Jon Runyan may be done due to age and injury. I know the Eagles got Stacy Andrews to play RT, but I would think they would be looking at Beatty or Britton to play on the line somehow. Just curious? |
