JEESH! Pitching again! the Pirates had a 5-1 lead, and then in the bottom of the 6th, Maholm, and Chavez allow 2 home runs, and the Brewers now lead 6-5...my freaking god!
The bad vibe from this thread has to be it...

Told ya.
All this good play they've had so far has been a tease. They are no better than they were last year.

we all know the drill.... as soon as they dip below .500 it is over and pretty much a tank job. rooting for the pirates to come out of may with a winning record is like rooting for the post season. rooting for them to actually finish above .500 for the season is like rooting for the world series. being a piratefan actually gives me a glimpse into what raider and lion fans must feel.

They just cannot win in Milwaukee. 17 straight losses now. I mean, yeah, sometimes a team just has your number, but this is ridiculous.
That's 2...

This team really is no better than last years team, or any other teams before it. They always play good for a spell. But the moment they dip below 500, they ain't climbing back out.
Last years' team started out good too, but the fact remains is that the Pirates lack the consistent players that step up 162 games a year. They play over their heads a little, then fall back to Earth in May/June while better teams shift gears and make a push. The ownership opens up a fire sale for players in August and it's back to square one. A consistent pattern since PNC Park was built. Until we see some results, people will be pessimistic about the Bucs. |

The Pirates are just missing some key players (McLouth, Doumit) though, Jaramillo has done a great job.they can still improve as the season progresses.
Remember guys, last year, no one would have guessed the Tampa Bay Rays would have a 90 win season, and make it to the World Series. The Pirates can have a .500 season, im hoping. Have faith guys!

As for tonight. Maholm lost control of his pitches, 5 walks is unacceptable for me, that was just bad...
Kerrigan needs to have a word with the rotation, because, the last 2 games, the Brewers scored late to win... I wish McLouth would heal up already!

And there you have it. Pirates lose 1-0 on a HR given up to the opposing pitcher. Only the Bucs...
15 consecutive losses to the Brewers. 18 consecutive losses at Miller Park. There's 3. Only 5 more losses to match the Marlins' streak. To be continued on Friday night...
