Not the kind from The Burgh

Did you hear about this:

A ship was sailing to Kenya to provide food and other things to people. It was flying the Stars and Stripes and had an American crew of 20. Some dumbass Somali pirates hijacked it (apparently this has been going on frequently this past month---the pirates ask for high ransoms and usually get them).

Well, the American crew, which was unarmed, was able to retake the ship and actually take one of the Pirates into custody...

I can't wait to hear the whole story when they interview the crew...

Friggin' idiots---don't they KNOW they shouldn't mess with the US?

Still, they managed to get something like $3million from the Russians and $3 or $4 Million from the ? Chinese ( not sure, I have to check on that).

And don't forget what they did to our whirlybirds...

You know right now,

There are a lot of special forces that are quite upset the sailors were able to take the ship back.

They keep talking about unarmed ships getting highjacked out there, why dont they bring a few guns with them? That way if they are attacked they can at least defend themselfs if their going the such dangrous waters as these.

The very first thing the Navy should do is have a fighter strafe that frickin life boat the pirates are presently occupying.

Next: "HEEEELLLLOOOOO!!! NAVY!!!!!" You have an awesome opportunity here for a live fire excercise right off the coast of Somalia! Don't you think that the Gunners Mates would love to shoot at something else besides 50 gallon drums for a change? And oh yea, you'd be making the seas safe for commerce at the same time.

Great ideas---I'm all for watching shit blow up---In fact, I'd love to be the one to make that shit blow up! But I think the idea would be better to blow up the life boat's mother ship! And then provide Navy escort (via submarine) to those shipping lanes...
Just imagine how big the skinnies' eyes would get when they saw a torpedo coming up from the deep
