Interesting stuff. Could this current crisis be contrived by the Democrats to : "Under the guise of recovery, bust the government, blame the capitalists for the failure, junk the constitution and declare a dictatorship"?

The theory behind this is that the Democrats have been plotting this crisis for much longer than 8 years...

There is no doubt that the left has been demonizing capitalism for a long time. In fact Spike (Killer) found something that showed that only 53% of Americans now think Capitalism is better than Socialism.

Where do you think that kind of thinking originated? Who would propagate thosekind of ideals? Which party most embodies the tenets of Socialism?

My "Liberal East Coast Elite" DC Lawyer friend basically just told me that he favors Socialism over Capitalism. That it has failed...

He's highly intelligent and educated. And this is what he now believes.

It's funny, because, being a lawyer, and naturally assuming he's smarter than everyone else in the Universe, he ALWAYS has an answer to everything. Some weird rationale, some kind of spin on how it's really all for the best, how his taxes come back to him in some form or other.

It's amazing the kind of self-delusion people will put themselves through just to cling to an ideal or belief that they feel they MUST subscribe to...

Prime example. When i finally nailed him down and said "So it's your view that Socialism >>> Capitalism?" His response was:

"For the viewpoint of the down-on-his-luck schmuck whom I described below, at the present time it certainly does.

Canada's econonly is doing pretty well compared to ours, BTW. Sure am glad I sunk a ton of money into Fidelity's Canada Fund a few years back."

Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the notion of "free" healthcare, etc. Unfortunately, I'm also grounded in reality and know that there is no such animal.

EDIT: BTW, I'm glad Canada's economy is doing well compared to ours - it's a relief to know that all those Canadians that come south for healthcare here as opposed to waiting 9-12 months (or longer) within their "free" system to see a doctor can actually afford it.
