We all know CNN and their inability to provide us with any semblance of objective news coverage. Many have come to accept that CNN will live down to their expectations. Their “coverage” of the tea parties was their usual leftist mockery of anything that takes a view contrary to their own. But they charted new territory this time. I won’t go into most of it – its all “out there” to see for yourself. Rather, I will focus on a comment that anderson cooper made that dwarfs the Imus incident and resulting firestorm.
CNN's anderson cooper insulted the grass-roots Tea Parties that blanketed the United States this week by making a lewd joke about the protesters. His exact words, in response to a guest who said Republicans are still searching for a voice to address the nation's economy, were, "It's hard to talk when you're tea-bagging." The comment parallels the "tea-bagging" term commonly used in the homosexual community to describe a sex act in which testicles are inserted in someone's mouth. The comment can be heard at .50 in this video… Of course, no “mainstream” media source will cover the remark or comment on it, and the thread in New Republic has been pulled. So here’s some “coverage” to prove I didn’t just make this up… http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/0..._n_187318.html http://beltwayblips.dailyradar.com/s...k_when_you_re/ http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/04...ard_to_ta.html http://www.wikio.com/video/1023402?s...ount=15&sort=0 You get the idea. IMHO, this warrants a response from Americans not only for the vulgarity, but for the unrestrained attack of Americans merely expressing their opinions. Don’t let them get away with it. Contact CNN @ http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form.sound.off.html And express your opinion. I did… CNN needs to fire anderson cooper. Your network redefines the term bias, and most don't watch as a result. But cooper consistently charts new territory. The "tea bagging" remark was purposeful and disqualifies him from further "journalistic" credibility. If CNN actually seeks to present news as news with any shred of credibility, they need to jettison those incapable of doing so. Imus was fired for a lesser "offense". “Thanks for listening”.

Done.
And since the cat is out of the bag, I will take this opportunity to apologize to patriot for initiating our recent exchange about the patriots fans having massive teabagging parties during their football games...... (not that there is anything wrong with that )

This is simply a large-scale, well organized ad hominem attack from the left. Since they have absolutely no leg to stand on regarding attacking the argument, they must resort to attacking the arguers.
The Tea Parties message was simple: We are over-taxed and under-represented. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who REALLY disagrees with that sentiment. They legally assembled. There was no violence and nobody "yelled fire in a crowded theater". But the Tea Parties were everywhere. They had to be reported (The liberal mainstream press can't just IGNORE something that big). So the approach they decided on was to attack the people who attended these events, and try and discredit them. So, instead of doing their job and reporting the event and what it stood for, they culled out a few weirdo's, half-assed the message, and did their best to taint everyone involved as right wing kooks. Nice job MSNBC, CNN and all the other Olbermanesque left-wing news outlets.

Do we agree that CNN is interested more in their own liberal agenda, and FoxNews is interested more in it's own conservative agenda?
I just want to see where everyone stands.

This is what ad driven media is reduced to. Because Fox is trouncing every network, they feel like they have to resort to this behaviour.
I would expect this behavior from a commentator, like a Hannity or Anderson Cooper, but not from a reporter or journalists delivering supposedly "hard" news coverage. How anyone can spin this away from left wing bias is beyond me. People are speaking, and just because it doesn't fall into the progressive ideology, the media are trying to ignore it.

I gotta say...
... I'm all for "tea-bagging" jokes, but it was a totally tasteless display. People have a right to assemble People have a right to disagree with the assembly But this was not the time or the venue.
