Smile A gift for the Superbowl Champs

Pool table latest addition

An addition greeted the players in the middle of their locker room yesterday, a pool table. It's a good luck symbol of sorts because they had a pool table in their locker room at the University of South Florida the week of the Super Bowl. Tomlin arranged for the regulation-sized table to be delivered . "It's great," said Willie Parker. "It takes the card-playing out of the question."

And you thought the Rooney's were cheap.

I wonder how much they would charge me to come in there and play a few games with Ben.

Everybody had some questions on why Rooney did not allow Wiz or Grimm to succeed Cowher. A pool table is a small token of appreciation, but it sends a message to the players.

Did you notice how the off season personnel decisions were handled? Mostly FO, but the coach still has input. Winning requires a team effort, not the effort of individuals at the expense of cohesiveness.

Did you notice how many teams are moving to a 3-4 D?

Did you notice the Ttians which made $100 million off season FA acquisition mistakes, the Broncos tinkering with a fine offense and neglecting a poor defense which lost them both, the Bengals which drafted several future criminals, and the Raiders who drafted using a dart board? All those teams mortgaged their future or severely hampered the possibility of winning a championship due to poor decision making.

The Steelers are making history again and we have the priviledge of witnessing it. It is due in part to the Rooneys which consider themselves "caretakers" of something that is special to the city. They run it in a way which makes sense and keeps the team competitive. Ego is trumped by winning in the organization. What is best for the team is what matters. Not how many trays of shrimp or silk ties they can squeeze out of the fans.

I wouldn't wanna play against some of those guys in pool. Hell, Harrison would probably go to hit a ball and it would vaporize.
