I actually feel pretty bad for Bengals fans. Im trying to think of a similar situation where a team tht was down for so long, finally makes it back to the big time, and within minutes their franchise player goes down, another reciever goes down, their star WR has a meltdown at the half, the injury to the franchise player is a torn ACL so his future isnt even assured, and you have to watch as your most bitter rival slaps you out of the playoffs. All the hope you had for not only this season, but maybe down the road, is GONE....and it happened in 2 plays!

there is no other situation in sports history that i can thnk of. can any of you??

the closest i can come up with, and this REEEAAAALLLY going back......is the 1973 NCAA Final Four. Providence made the big time, but within minutes Marvin Barnes broke his leg.
Ernie D wasnt enough to be Memphis State and PC lost its chance to play UCLA.

i admit i havent heard the take around here on that. i actually caught some of the sports talk in Cincinnati today on 700AM ( i picked it up in my car in Florence,SC) and they all believe he pulled he nutty in the locker room. Steeler Nation doesnt buy it?

I t was certanly a big blow - but the Bengal D is a ticking timebomb just waiting to go off.#

They kept afloat against poor opposition by catching alot of INT's - when they dried up so did the teams D playmaking skills.

I have alot of sympathy for the Bengals - I hope carson makes a full recovery and they get a D to go with that potent looking 'O' for next year.

All the sympathy I have for Bengal fans stops with wishing Carson Palmer a complete recovery.
Other than that I still be hopeing they lose every game just like I'd wish on Baltimore and Cleveland.

this isnt exactly the same but in nascar michael waltrip hadnt won in his 15 year career and as his team owner and good friend dale earnhardt, pushed him into the final turn of the final lap of the biggest race of the year, earnhardt crashed and died. his son watched it in his rearview. not only did waltrip go from the highest of the high to the lowest of the low but the whole sport did in what shouldve been one of the best daytona 500's in quite some time.
