SOme of you here know my feelings on the press calling a president simply Mr. Bush or Mr. Obama. I think it is disrespectful.

However, this is the first time I have read of anyone one-naming a first lady with the last name, without ANY title.

I know most of you probably don't care. But wouldn't it be nice if SOME deference was displayed for the first family? I mean, come on.

BTW, I didn't read most of the article, but it seems like a "how is the adjustment going for your family" type article-- filler stuff and Oprah! stuff.

Come on. Just a LITTLE deference please?

I'm sorry, Father, but respect is not handed out - it is EARNED. From some of Mrs. Obama's comments both pre and post-election, she hasn't earned that respect, at least from me.

I heard Laura Bush referred to as Mrs. Bush numerous times and it didn't bother me in the least.

How many times was "First Lady" Bush referred to by Laura Bush? How come no one cared when "First Lady" Kennedy was referred to as "Jackie Kennedy" or "Jackie Onassis"?

But saying Mrs. Obama causes an uproar?
