No problem. I bashed the hell out of Gill myself when he first came here, as you well know, but over time, he proved himself to be valuable. He was good in the playoffs last year as well as this year, and really, you can't ask for much more than that. He was an integral part of their title and he deserves credit for a job well done.

He did that as a rookie, no less!

it makes sense when you think about it even though I am a big Staal fan and would hate to see him go.

Jack Johnson wants out of LA badly and now that they signed Scuderi they can afford to let him go. Oh btw, he is close friends with Crosby.

Then you have Frolov or Brown who are both soild and would be sick playing with Malkin

Then we could sign Zigomanus for our 3rd line center
Actually, this was talked about as a possible trade up until Staal signed his extension. I'd take that deal in a heartbeat, especially if it included Brown and Johnson.

I thought you meant Gill's contract with Montreal.

it would have to be for Frolov then, Brown is there captain and the center piece of there team. He is NOT going anywhere.

This same thing came up last year in the off-season for the same players, except it was Malkin not Staal. Everyone was concerned that we wouldnt be able to afford Malkin and we should trade him and get something out of him.

I would LOVE to have Dustin Brown though, he is one of my favorite players in the NHL. He could very well be team USA's captain in the 2014 Winter Olympics

aint that how it always works

"we will never be as good as we were when we had Player A"

"Player B, what a great signing, where would we be without him"

"WHAT?! We didnt resign Player B!!'

Repeat over and over

Keep the core and replenish the edges - that is the way of the Pens.

Yea verily.

I think in order to get JJ and Frolov it would have to be something like

LA gets: Staal, Goligoski, maybe a pick
PIT gets JJ, Frolov
Just guessing I have no idea.

Also, what about Dennis Seidenberg, he would be awesome to sign.

tiops said that pittsburgh has been more active in trade talks than in signing players. Then it goes on to say that Pittsburgh could be an attractive place for Jay McKee. His value is below $2 mil per so.
