Default Iran's Supreme Leader says enough is enough

Iran’s Ruling Cleric Warns of Bloodshed if Protests Persist

In his first public response to days of protests, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sternly warned opponents Friday to stay off the streets and denied opposition claims that last week’s disputed election was rigged, praising the ballot as an “epic moment that became a historic moment.”

He said opposition leaders would be “held responsible for chaos” if they did not end the protests. His remarks seemed to deepen the confrontation between Iran’s rulers and supporters of the main opposition candidate, Mir Hussein Moussavi, who have accused the authorities of rigging the vote.

“The youth are confused. Being away from spirituality has caused confusion. They don’t know what to do,” he said.

He said the June 12 elections had been a “great demonstration of responsibility by our nation” and its 85 percent turnout had shown “the hand of the Lord of ages supporting such a great development. This is a sign of God’s mercy for this nation.”

A revolution in Iran would be a welcome thing. As long as the CIA stays the eff out of it this time.

Let them do it themselves and we can lend a hand in the aftermath, but STRICTLY in a supporting role, minimal military presence.

Maybe Bush DID know what he was talking about when he suggested Arabs would welcome democracy....

Iran is NOT an Arab country - they are Persians.

“I will participate in the demonstrations tomorrow. Maybe they will turn violent. Maybe I will be one of the people who is going to get killed. I’m listening to all my favorite music. I even want to dance to a few songs. I always wanted to have very narrow eyebrows. Yes, maybe I will go to the salon before I go tomorrow! There are a few great movie scenes that I also have to see. I should drop by the library, too. It’s worth to read the poems of Forough and Shamloo again. All family pictures have to be reviewed, too. I have to call my friends as well to say goodbye. All I have are two bookshelves which I told my family who should receive them. I’m two units away from getting my bachelors degree but who cares about that. My mind is very chaotic. I wrote these random sentences for the next generation so they know we were not just emotional and under peer pressure. So they know that we did everything we could to create a better future for them. So they know that our ancestors surrendered to Arabs and Mongols but did not surrender to despotism. This note is dedicated to tomorrow’s children…”

But the Mullahs are now using Arabs to crush the Persian Youth Revolutionaries:

Iran: 'Arab militias' attack pro-Mousavi protesters
Tehran, 19 June (AKI) - Supporters of reformist candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi have reportedly claimed that pro-government Arab militias attacked protesters in Tehran following last week's presidential elections. According to witnesses quoted by pan-Arab daily al-Sharq al-Awsat, undercover security agents gave the militias orders in Farsi while one of them translated the phrases in Arabic.

Witnesses claim that only after hearing the orders in Arabic would the militias begin attacking the demonstrators in an attempt to disperse them.

The witnesses claim Arab involvement the murder of at least eight protesters allegedly by pro-government Basij militias.

Unrest has grown in Iran since hardline presidential incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner in last Friday's election - a vote the opposition claims was rigged.

According to official Iranian media, Ahmadinejad received 62.3 percent of the vote, or 24.5 million votes, compared to Mousavi's 33.7 percent or 13.2 million votes.

Tens of thousands of people were reported to have taken to the streets of the Iranian capital Tehran following the election results.

Figures on the number of people killed in the unrest are impossible to verify as the Iranian government has imposed a ban on foreign media coverage.

However, rights group Iran Human Rights quoting 'reliable sources in Tehran' as saying earlier this week that least 32 people had died in clashes with security forces since the opposition protests began last Saturday.

and don't forget the Palestinian Hamas enforcers helping the Mullahs....

Looks to me like an entire generation of Persians being ruled by an Arab minority.

Yeah - they're rolling in the Revolutionary Guard now, their regular military are mostly conscripts, mandatory service, just like Israel.

It's going to be a bloodbath

Tienanman square all over again, and we'll just sit by and do nothing.

Here's another Great Site for pics out of Iran of the real Revolution that is going on. This is the exact same type of thing that happened in the old Soviet block countries. The Youth of the Country are shaking off their bonds.

Well - it's not likely we'll be sending them air drops with guns and grenades.

Here ya go...

House Votes on Resolution to Support Iranian Students

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1) expresses its support for all Iranian citizens who embrace the values of freedom, human rights, civil liberties, and rule of law;

(2) condemns the ongoing violence against demonstrators by the Government of Iran and pro-government militias, as well as the ongoing government suppression of independent electronic communication through interference with the Internet and cellphones; and

(3) affirms the universality of individual rights and the importance of democratic and fair elections.

The House just voted to pass it by an overwhelming margin 405 to 1.

Ron Paul was the lone "no" vote

And that would be the reason Ron Paul will never be President. The guy is such an isolationalist its scary.

Anyway, we as the Strongest and Truest Demacracy in the History of Man Kind does need to show we are as a Nation behind all those that wish to have Freedom as well.
