Default Logan activated from PUP

Logan activated from PUP

LATROBE, Pa. – It wasn’t a missed opportunity, as much as it turned out to be a slightly delayed one.

Stefan Logan, the former Canadian Football League all-purpose back signed by the Steelers shortly after Super Bowl XLIII, was activated off the physically unable to perform list in time for Monday morning’s practice at Saint Vincent College.

Logan, who reported on July 31 with the rest of the players, arrived on campus with what Coach Mike Tomlin described as a mid-foot sprain he had sustained while getting ready for this camp.

“He is capable of running straight ahead, but some of the things that are associated with playing football; unanticipated change of direction and things like that, he is not ready to go,” said Tomlin last Friday.

After a couple of days of additional rest and rehabilitation, Logan’s foot was sound enough to get him onto the field on Monday morning.

As a CFL rookie in 2008, Logan played for the British Columbia Lions and rushed for 889 yards on 122 carries and caught 52 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns. He started out strictly as a running back with the Steelers, but as the offseason program continued he also began to work at wide receiver as well.

“He’s one of the guys … we are kind of surprised by what he has been able to do as a wide receiver,” Tomlin said about Logan at the conclusion of OTAs in June. “He is running back capable – of course that’s his background – but he is not a fish out of water at wide receiver. He’s worked as a punt returner and a kickoff returner. Position flexibility is his ally, and we are going to help him with that.”

Looking forward to see what he can do. He's not 100%, but he recovered awfully fast...

Yeah, if he doesnt recover fast he is gonna be trying to get back to the CFL in September.

I honestly think this kid can make the team better in terms of his return/receiving skills...but its the toughest competition I can think of in years for a returner.
