Default Would the Steelers re-sign Kendall Simmons?

Would the Steelers re-sign Kendall Simmons?
Saturday, August 08, 2009
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Peter Diana/Post-Gazette
Former Steelers guard Kendall Simmons.

Question:

Has Kendall Simmons sig
ned with another team and if not would the Steelers take another look at him ?

Bob Wallace, Fayetteville, NC

BOUCHETTE: Eric Metz, Simmons' agent, told me the former Steelers starting right guard is healthy and ready to go if/when someone calls. So far, however, no one has and it does not appear the Steelers are interested. Not only have they not called Metz about him, they have told me his name has not even come up when they're discussing possible centers and/or guards.

If we had an injury to the middle of the line, I think the team would consider it.

If the Steelers were willing to take the cap damage from releasing him from a 5 year deal, i dont think it's even a thought.
