Steelers Sign 7 Players To Practice Squad

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―

Officials with the team say they have signed seven players.

All of them participated during training camp, but were cut by the team last week.

The players on the practice squad include:

Tyler Grisham, WR
Issac Redman, RB
Justin Vincent, RB
Dezmond Sherrod, TE
A.Q. Shipley, C
Steve McLendon, DL
Donovan Woods, LB

Also, three players on the team's active roster will be wearing a different number when the regular season starts.

The Steelers say wide receiver/kick returner Stefan Logan will wear No. 11, cornerback Joe Burnett will wear No. 27 and wide receiver Shaun McDonald will change his number to 81.

The Steelers regular season starts Thursday, September 10th, at Heinz Field against the Tennessee Titans.

Still pissed about Harris. I guess this move makes me feel a little better, though.

I have to think the 8th player will be another o'linemen carped from another team.

I expected Capizzi to make the practice squad. He still qualifies and offers insurance on the o-line. Or have the Steelers felt he's been given enough chances and the upside just isn't there?

isn't 2 years the limit ? i don't think him, or dallas baker were eligable.

3 years if you're just on the PS. I think if you're on the active roster for like 9 games you're ineligible.

I was a little surprised we cut Woods, I'm very happy we have him on the PS.
