Pittsburgh Steelers
2008 record: 12-4 (First in AFC North)
2008 statistics | 2009 Preseason Statistics | Roster | Tickets

Vic Carucci
Despite a sometimes bumpy offseason, the Steelers look as if they have the necessary ingredients, including focus, to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
Prediction: 12-4, first in AFC North

Steve Wyche
Mike Tomlin didn't let Super Bowl complacency take hold with a rough training camp. Very little drop off.
Prediction: 11-5, first in AFC North

Pat Kirwan
The defending champs return 20 starters. Lawrence Timmons takes over for Larry Foote and Rashard Mendenhall returns from injury to bolster a run attack that slipped last year.
Prediction: 11-5, first in AFC North

Bucky Brooks
The Steelers experience a Super Bowl hangover and are unable to defend their crown. Beset by injuries and inconsistent play, the Steelers limp to their first losing season since 2003.
Prediction: 7-9, third in AFC North (Oh well what do except of a grown man who goes around calling himself "Bucky". Still I suppose Bucky is better than idiot. - mesa)

Jason La Canfora
Offensive line should be more consistent in 2009, and Ben Roethlisberger just wins games any way he can.
Prediction: 12-4, first in AFC North

Willie Parker
The toll of the nagging injuries ended Parker's impressive string of three consecutive seasons with over 1,200 rushing yards. More importantly, the decline in production has opened the door for Rashard Mendenhall to take some of Parker's carries this season. With an heir-apparent ready to replace him, Parker must produce early and often to remain the Steelers' feature back
LaMarr Woodley
The third-year pro burst on the scene with a sensational performance during his first season as a starter. Woodley recorded 11.5 sacks and proved to be disruptive force opposite James Harrison in the Steelers' 3-4 scheme. As a powerful, bull rusher with explosive strength, Woodley overwhelms blockers in the pocket. The linebacker has an exceptional burst closing to the quarterback. On a defense that specializes in punishing opponents, Woodley's emergence has given the unit an added dimension in their pressure package.

Depth behind Big Ben
Ben Roethlisberger's Super Bowl performance moves him into an elite class. Charlie Batch knows the offense inside and could keep the team afloat if he had to play for a month. Big Ben started 19 games last year but has had his share of bumps and bruises.
