Chargers Poem (10/04/09)

A tale of two halves - one good one bad
The first one made us happy - the other made us mad

San Diego was playing catch up right from the beginning
As the Steelers would quickly be winning

Before we knew it three scores on the board
And not just field goals - it was touchdowns they scored

Rashard reminded us why he was drafted in the first round
Our running game has been lost - now it has been found

21-0 at the half but it was going to get exciting
And we would even see a trick play sighting

We dominated for 3 quarters and then the going got rough
With all those touchdowns it would be hopefully enough

4th quarter came and with about 12 minutes to go
A gift TD for San Diego because the whistle didn’t blow

Remember that trick play? Well that was our next score
On a halfback pass to Heath from Mewelde Moore

San Diego would score again twice but it was too little too late
On a night when our offense looked really great

We shouldn’t have even had to think about Jeff Reed
But that’s what happens when you blow a 28 point lead

With a couple minutes left the Steelers would not be denied
They finished the game with a win on their side

We’re off to Detroit to play our next game
We hope the results will end up the same

So do whatever it takes to keep those silver and blue
To have to keep looking for win number two
