Default Andre Agassi- meth head

nothing really shocks me, but this kinda did-

Agassi says he used crystal meth in '97

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/ten...ory?id=4600027

Quote:
Andre Agassi used crystal meth while he was playing professional tennis, according to a new autobiography to be released next month.

The information was confirmed by the director of media relations at Knopf, a division of Random House which is publishing the book, according to a report in the New York Daily News. It was first publicized widely by Sports Illustrated writer Richard Deitsch in a Twitter post.

The Daily News said that the year was 1997.

"FYI: There's an off-the-charts book excerpt from Andre Agassi in the forthcoming SI: He admits to taking crystal meth during his career," Deitsch wrote Tuesday morning. The post was later deleted. The excerpt of the book is due out later this week in Sports Illustrated and People magazines.

"Those excerpts contain revelations about Andre's use of crystal meth when he was a tennis player," said Paul Bogaards of Knopf, according to the Daily News.

Agassi had won the Olympic gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Games, but didn't win a major in 1997. His next major came at the 1999 French Open. He won the U.S. Open later that year and went on to win three more Australian Open titles before retiring in 2006. He won more than $30 million in his career, and eight major singles titles.

He is currently married to former Grand Slam champion Steffi Graf. They have two children.

The book, titled "Open: An Autobiography," is due out on Nov. 9.

That might be a book worth reading. Probably won't purchase it, but will wait until the local library gets a copy in and then snatch it up.

I enjoy tennis, and had mixed emotions at times with Agassi. One constant with him though was his intelligence and candid opinions on all subjects and questions asked of him. His intensisty reached beyond the tennis court. He seems to be a complex man, and that might make for some good reading.

He was my favorite tennis player. I used to hate Sampras.

You don't just go to Crystal Meth, I wonder what else he used? Meth is an ugly ugly drug.

I was shocked to hear this, I was a huge Agassi fan. But you had to know he was probably doing something since he was the rebel type.

He's catching some heat within the tennis community for his admission about using meth, and some are even comparing him to Roger Clemens which doesn't fly with me. Never used crystal meth, but from my understanding it's not a performance enhancing narcotic. To compare that to steroid use is a bit of a stretch.

Yahoo also had an earlier headline about his admission to having a weave when he started losing his hair, and how it started to fall apart during a grand slam match. According to the report, which was an excerpt from his book, he was so concerned about his hair "coming off" that it cost him the match.

From a woman's perspective, with the proper haircut, going bald isn't unattractive. Why are so many men tormented by this?
