Hi, I thought I would check out the boards for this week and give an overview of what we are doing this year.
It was a little dissapointing last week but I was always worried about coming off a bye and flying across country, we just never came to play and the Ravens were much the better team. The D played fantastic again holding the Ravens to 3 FG's at home even though they kept getting put back on the field. We let up 2 TD's right at the end of the game but by then the D was worn out and a couple of players from the backfield had gone out so i'm not too worried about that. The O was very poor, I have heard some say that Orton and McD were too safe and didn't challenge them deep but they obviously didn't see the game. It was lost because their DL dominated our OL which meant they could drop ppl deep into coverage and take away our deep ball and Orton didn't get any time to throw. I don't know why the OL dropped off so much this game, just a horrible day all round lol. The ST's were poor as well but that was unusual as well. Lets start with the D. Last year it was a joke and alot of the personnel are now out of the league completely, it was THAT bad. Shanahan was a major bust on D picks and our old DC Slowik was AWFUL (Shanahan was going to keep him on as well which helped with his firing) We brought in Nolan who had success coaching on the Ravens 2000 D and he changed us to a 3-4, we then brang in personnel to fit the D. The backfield looks really good and experienced. CB - Bailey - Healthy and playing lights out this year. CB - Goodman - A huge upgrade over Dre Bly. S - Renaldo Hill - Another from Miami who calls our backfield plays and has great range. S - Dawkins - Our MVP so far, he has given us SOOO much fire, leadership and intensity that we have missed it has made a HUGE difference, he's also playing very well and doesn't look like he's lost anything. We moved our pass rusher Dumerville to OLB in the 3-4 where he creates mismatches and knows how to get after the QB, DJ Williams and Andre Davis are run tackling machines on the inside and Haggans doing well. Fields and Holliday are doing terrific on the NT position as well. Nolan knows how to make halftime adjustments and the points we have given up in the second half are as follows. CIN - 7 OAK - 3 CLE - 0 DAL - 0 NE - 0 SD - 3 BAL - 14 (On D) - 7 (On ST's) On O we still have our top OL, good WR core, Moreno and Buck working well and McD is making Orton a really good QB who has not only just thrown one pick (end of half hail mary) but has thrown for over 300 against NE with TD drives of 90 and 98 and is improving all the time and recently outplayed Rivers. We LOVE McD, we practice hard and have a new gameplan every week, it came out that Belicheck taught him the HC role last year and he is doing well. As he says 'The most important game is the next one' Our MVP so far - So lets hear about the Steelers. btw - I heard that Harrison lines up on Cladys side, if your DC has any sense he will put him away from one of the top LT's and put him on Polumbus's side who done well against Suggs but is our weaker side. |

Hopefully your team is pretty pissed at losing to one AFCN team and doesn't wish to repeat the process. They will have their hands full, though. |

Welcome to the board, always nice to have respectful fans from other teams come here to share their thoughts.
![]() Gotta say that we are all pretty worried about Berger and his "student body shank right" play!!! (just kidding) Good luck this week...we are all looking forward to the game. ![]() ![]()

Yeah Berger was killing us on Sunday, they had they ball near midfield far too many times. Hopefully the rust has gone and he steps up. I get the impression that the Steelers D is slowly creeping back to excellance (obviously helps with Polomalu back) but the O is really struggling this year. |

Why in the heck did your team pick up Berger? That had all of us scratching our heads as he was absolutely pathetic for us last year. Could make it a field position game in the Steelers favor if he does a couple of those lovely shanks we got to see all too often last year. Harrison can play on either side and be just as effective. If he is there, your weak lineman on the other side has to contend with Woodley. I guarantee you that is no easy task. Orton will be toast against this defense. They are as good or better than the Ravens D. You got extremely lucky against the Bengals and the Pats are not as good as people keep trying to portray them as.
