Dirtiest player in the NFL Posted by cludwig November 12th, 2009, 4:04 pm Read Comments(121) Recommend(2)
I’ve been saying it for years.

Shouting it, actually.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is the dirtiest player in the NFL.

Now, finally, NFL players agree.

In a Sports Illustrated poll of 296 players from New York state to the Golden Gate, Ward has been tagged, awarded and honored with that dubious distinction.

And deservedly so.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...rty/index.html

Ward takes guys out with blind-side cheap shots, and the grin never seems to leave his face.

Ward took delight when he jacked up Cincinnati Bengals outside linebacker Keith Rivers a year ago, breaking Rivers’ jaw on a block that was late, unnecessary and uncalled for.

Here’s the sad part: There isn’t an NFL player, coach, GM or owner who wouldn’t want Ward on his or her team.

There’s only one problem with SI’s poll.

I don’t see any mention of Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle John Henderson.

How is that possible?

Henderson only tried to rip the eyes out of Andrew Whitworth’s head last season.

The key statement in that narrative was that any of those teams / players would love to have Ward on their roster....if they said they wouldn't then they're lying.

That hit on Rivers was the greatest of all time. The force was so great he bounced off the back of his neck and sat on his arse for a couple seconds with his head wobbling around like a live bobblehead. Then fell back. I loved it. When I saw it live I thought he was dead.

Another blubbering mangina who should stick to watching golf instead of football.

Hey, guess what man. Football is a violent sport with big hits and people get hurt. Hines doesn't go out there with the intention to injure someone, but stuff happens.

Maybe this guy should stick to watching and writing about golf or tennis.
