Ok - I've been down here in Orlando for a while and have met a few Steelers fans, but not a group to watch games with on a regular basis. Just wondering if there is a group of Steeler fans that gets together to watch games. I have great friends who are watch the games with me from time to time, but it just isn't the same as watching with real fans!

Hi, Kari. I used to live in Orlando, and, even after aqcuiring Sunday Ticket and College Gameday on dish, still liked to go mix it up at the sports bars with fellow Steelers fans.
I'd suggest any Frogger's, but particularly the one in Hunter's Creek. The owner is from the Burgh...good food, cheap drinks, and they even do a raw bar if you dig that. Usually get a crowd of regulars, too. Damon's in Old Towne in Kissimmee is another scene like that. I think the Thirsty Whale is another good place...by Universal Studio's on Kirkman. JB's on Kirkman used to be THE Steeler's bar, but it was taken over by Middle Easterners who just don't get it. Friday's Front Row is pretty cool, on I-drive, but a little pricey. The ultimate is the ESPN Club on Disney's Boardwalk, but it's all toursists, and tourist prices. Still, for a Monday Night game, it's the best...they have a giant jumbotron in the main dining room in HD. Hope that helped... |

I can recommend!
If you can come over to Polk County, there's a "Beef O'Brady"s in Winter Haven that is owned by a guy from Pittsburgh area. I haven't been there, but my mother has, and says that yesterday's game was WILD. Get there early. To stay in the Orlando area, I recommend the All Star Cafe at Wide World of Sports. It isn't all Steeler fans, but the majority is. We were there yesterday, and there were 7 Bronco fans, with the rest being Steeler fans, and a few stragglers, from some gymnastics thing there. We always have a ton of fun, and they have 15 HUGE screens, a ton of small regular screens, and now they even have a game where you can call the plays, and get scores against others. Enjoy your trip here! Brooke |
