Default How hard is it to beat a team 3 times in a season?

Seems like that is something everyone likes to talk about. However, according to my research, out of 18 matchups where a team has won twice in regular season and then met in the playoffs the record is 11-7.

So, the old adage of you can't beat a team 3 times, is garbage.

Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Won
Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Raiders Lost
New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins Won
Houston Oilers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Lost
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Raiders Won
Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers Lost
Los Angeles Raiders vs. Denver Broncos Won
Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears Lost
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Won
New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins Won
Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Won
Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals Lost
Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Won
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Won
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Won
St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Won
Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings Lost
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Lost
