That thought actually crossed my mind this morning that it would be great if the Steelers could get Myron in the booth with Bill and Tunch for the Superbowl.

Here's the thing. Did any of you read the article in the PPG about two days ago about Myron Cope? Maybe it might just change your mind and start looking at this topic from his point of view. Here it is..... http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06022/641678.stm

This is a guy who recently got out of the hospital with pneumonia. You can obviously tell by the article that he is happy and content doing what he is doing now. Personally, I'm not about to sign a petition for my own enjoyment (who's to say it's his?) to have a man who's health is on the decline, so I can see him come out of retirement and announce a football game.

I know a good number want to hear Myron Cope announce one more game, but the guys health is not holding up and going by the above article, he's content with retirement. If he does decide to come out of retirement, more power to him. That's his decision. But who am I to ask a sick man to come out of retirement so I can get personal enjoyment? Does that no come off as just a little bit selfish? Just a little? That's why I will not sign this petition. Just my two cents.

Myron, we love you. Enjoy your retirement. Sit back, relax, watch us win the big one and take care of yourself.

I agree that it doesn't really matter if we, as fans, want Myron in the booth or not. The guy is getting up there in years and he probably would just as soon sit on his wrinkled ass at home than deal with travel, lodging, and all the other stuff that comes along with a Super Bowl. I know this much, though, I'll be thinking about him because I know he'll be watching the game and rooting on his Steelers.

Didn't know Myron was still having health issues.
Since that's the case I agree that he should just stay put at home, crack open a few "Rocks" on gameday and enjoy himself.

Drizze, please don't take offense to my response above. It was not directed towards you in anyway, shape or form. It was a response stated in general and just my opinion. I would love to see Myron come back for one more game, but the guy's health is not there.

Funny story. Cope used to do commercials for my dad's company back in the day. Every few months all the guys would meet, rent out a banquet hall and Myron would go up to the podium and speak along with others in the company. Well, hard to believe, Cope is a very shy individual. After a few drinks (which he did enjoy), he would loosen up and go all night.
