Steelers re-sign former special teams ace
Wednesday, December 02, 2009 By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The Steelers today signed their former special teams ace and cornerback Anthony Madison, who was released by the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday. They released Corey Ivy, who they signed last week to play special teams. Madison was a special teams dynamo for the Steelers the past three seasons, but they still waived him on the final cut before this season. He played for Cleveland and later Indianapolis this season. Ivy was active for Sunday's game in Baltimore. Read more: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09336...#ixzz0YZcaY1Hk |

great news (imo).
though i still cant figure why he couldnt stick with either the browns or the colts (2 of the best and worst teams in the league). i would guess its because he has no upside as a starter and doent fit the niche that the steelers have for him. he's in and ratliff is out as a failed experiment and poor coaches decision (maybe colts will sign ratliff). how bout mike mckenzie signing back with the saints and making a huge impact w/in a week.?

I'm glad he's back to however the more interesting question is who bears the blame for letting him go?
Was it the front office, the coaches, or a combination of both? Our special teams have been pathetic and it is apparent that Tomlin believes that is not a coaching issue but rather it is a personnel issue. Else he would have fired the special teams coach rather than replace the special teams players. The coaching staff must assume some of responsibility for not having the right players out there at the beginning of the season. |

Cue up the Hallelujah chorus.
Bit surprised they released Ivy though. I don't doubt that he could have given us some insights on the next Baltimore game.
