Thumbs up Journal Entry from Cedrick Wilson

Super Bowl Bound!
01/25/06

We?re going to the Super Bowl! I?ll tell you, it was tough when we were 7-5 to believe it could happen, but now it?s a wonderful feeling. The fans here are pumped and we?re pumped and so excited for this opportunity.

The veterans on this team do a good job of leading by example on and off the field. The young guys they?re doing a great job of watching and learning how the veterans approach the game. Plus our coaching staff has done a tremendous job, especially the last seven weeks, of game planning and attending to the details. And we?ve done our job in going out and executing and that?s what it?s going to take.

This is my first year with the Steelers and I?ve made some plays through the course of my career prior to getting here, but the Pittsburgh Steelers fans, it?s hard to explain how great they are. They just appreciate every thing that you do well. Like Jerome Bettis getting a one-yard first down. How small is that? But the fans they appreciate him for it. The Steelers fans appreciate us so much because they love the game, they know the game, they study the game and they make us want to go out and play hard for them.

It adds a whole extra level of energy and incentive for us whenever we take the field. They?re just as excited about our games as we are and a lot of us feed off that. So, it?s about time that we?re able to be in the Super Bowl not just for us, but for them too.

Wow, I'm impressed! He gets it. With that attitude and the way he has been playing in the playoffs....He will make all of us forget that we even had Plax! Which I think is a good thing. He will be welcome here for a very long time. Good read!

Ced is awesome...what a cool guy. I really like how he has stepped up too...especially when Ben is on the run it seems like Ced always finds a way to get open for that thirty or forty yard lob.

I was never a fan of Plaxico...it just seemed like there was more hype about just "throwing it up to the 6'5 3/4" (or whatever it was) receiver" than actual catches he made over guys. I just don't think he was a playmaker for us. I still remember when he was a rookie (I believe)...he caught a pass midfield, fell to the ground as he caught it, rolled over, jumped up, and spiked the ball, thinking because he hit the ground he was down. The other team ending up falling on it as it was a fumble lol.

ha, anyone else remember that? Given he was a rookie, that is just my favorite memory of him on a play lol.

Ugh I remember that. Thankfully Plax is gone. So much for needing him to get back to the AFC Championship game lol

Yeah I remeber that. Didn't the refs rule that he gave himself up and hence ruled that he was down?
