Alright I do not have time to read this article so I will comment anyway. If this is serious these guys need to stay off the crack from there local drug dealers which can be found at any stoplight. That city is a hole. Will read article later.

It was a tongue-in-cheek article trying to demonstrate the bad publicity Detroit gets whenever it's mentioned and how painting a city and people with a broad brush doesn't always give you the proper perspective. The writer was just having a little fun talking about the out of control rioters in Seattle and the numbskulls in Philly and how Detroiters should beware of these lunatics.

Yeah... Detroit's afraid of you ruining our beautiful city. This is Detroit. We'll knock your teeth out and burn it down ourselves, beeyotch.

Everyone who comes here is going to have a good time and the only thing that'll bring someone down is the outcome of the game. Don't listen to the stereotypes, it's more of an image that many Detroiters seem to enjoy spreading. For some reason we like to be scary, but it's not really all that scary.
