With the Steelers leading by 3, with 1:54 seconds left the Steelers drove 88 yards in 50 seconds where Dennis Dixon hooked up with Mike Wallace on 10 yard pass to put them up 31-21 and to seal the victory.

Game Ball
Dennis Dixon threw for 302 yards and 1 touchdown... Rookie Joe McKnight returned a 96 yard touchdown kickoff return... Terrence McGee had 9 tackles including 1 deflection and 2 forced fumbles.

The Steelers travled to Buffalo for perhaps the last time as the Bills took devastating hits to the Steelers. The Bills Running Back Marshawn Lynch ran for over 60 yards in the first half but ended up with only 7 more in the second due to toughened up rush defending. The Bills looked to win this one with over 160 yards total offense going into halftime but ended up with 188 yards total offense.

Dennis Dixon didn't surprise and again had a good showing as the Steelers look to go ahead of the Finally defeated Baltimore Ravens (6-0). In other news the Indianapolis Colts of 2009 that went 19-0 are currently the only undefeated team in the league.

William Gay and Ike Taylor shut down Chris Simms durin the 4th quarter, enabling them for the win.

The Steelers will release Guard Trai Essex and sign Tuff Harris and Kennard Cox to the active roster.

It was over when...
With the Steelers leading by 17-3 with just 6 minutes left Lones Seiber hit a field goal to put the Buccaneers to bed 20-3.

Game Ball
LaMarr Woodley terroized the Buccaneers offensive line all day, he helped stop the Buccaneers to under 37 yards rushing with 4 tackles and when he blitzed he picked up 3 sacks and a fumble recovery.

The Steelers held their last home game against an NFC opponent of the season.

The Buccaneers came into Heinz Field looking promising but soon found out that recently rehired Bruce Gradkowski just could not move the chains as he was limited to just under 160 yards passing and threw 2 interceptions leading his team to not even gaining a touchdown and could only convert 7% of their third downs.

The Steelers didn't look so good on the offensive side of the ball as they only managed 298 yards on the day, season average is 374 yards. Dennis Dixon threw two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions, he could only muster a quarterback rating of 71.6 but still guided the Steelers to a win. In Dennis Dixon starting just a couple of games this season has thrown for 8 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Ben Roethlisberger is listed as doubtful for next week's encounter against Miami. The Steelers who are second in their division at 6-2 will try to overide Miami and take the first place as the Ravens 6-2 are on a two game losing streak.

If the playoffs ended today the Steelers would hold the 4th seed.

Since Ike Taylor has been back with the Steelers after his recent holdout dispute, the Steelers defence has transformed to only giving up 247 yards per game, The first two games they allowed near 800 yards.

He shut down Antonio Bryant holding him to 2 receptions for 40 yards.

Game Ball
Aaron Smith had 4 tackles and 3 sacks as the Steelers outperformend the Dolphins.

Troy Polamalu still might not have an interception this season and may continue his hiatus from the Pro Bowl for 2 years but he and the Pittsburgh Steelers defence is back at #1 yet again, it may be heading for the number 1 ranked defence for the fourth straight year after it's intense performence against Miami.

With the win the Steelers advance to 7-2.

Aaron Smith helped the Steelers force the Dolphins into just 3 completed first downs and 10% 3rd conversions.

Ben Roethlisberger is listed as "Probable" in the Monday Night clash against the Divisional Leader Carolina Panthers.

It was over when...
with just under 1 minute left to play and the Carolina Panthers advancing into Steeler territory trailing by 2 points, William Gay picked off a ill attempt pass and returned it 54 yards for a touchdown to put the game away 29-20.

Game Ball
Jon Beason had 8 tackles 1 sack and a forced fumble... James Harrison had 9 tackles and 2 sacks... Ben Roethlisberger threw for 203 yards completed 14 of his 18 passes and threw two touchdowns.

In what was thoroughly a defensive struggle for much of the first half in rainy conditions the Steelers drew first blood but missed the extra point, the Steelers punted a season high 8 times as the Panthers struggled to get back into the game but after some special teams play by Dez Bryant they gained two field goals before half time.

The second half began with the Steelers driving to Panthers territory but stalling for a field goal, this was all crossed out as Dez Bryant returned a kickoff for a touchdown putting them up 10-9. It got worse as James Farrior was carted off with a broken thumb allowing DeAngelo Williams who was ineffective when Farrior was on the field to be effective, He plowed in 20 yards in one series and capped it off with an 8 yard touchdown run, The Steelers look dumbstruck as the Panthers pushed the lead to 20-9 just before the end of the third quarter, but Ben Roethlisberger drove down the field fast and connected with Heath Miller in the endzone putting the Steelers back into the game.

With just 1 minute and 29 seconds left Lones Seiber kicked his 3rd Field Goal of the night to put them up 22-20 but the Panthers sealed their fate when they threw deep ball in moonsoon like conditions perfectly into the hands of William Gay who returned his 5th interception of the season.

Whilst Rolando McClain replaced James Farrior, he recorded 5 tackles and 1 sack, James Harrison equaled his Franchise record he set in 2008 with getting his 16 sack of the season.

Ryan Clark layed out Dez Bryant ending his promising night.

James Farrior is listed as doubtful with a Broken Thumb against the #2 ranked Defensive side New York Jets. Darrelle Revis has only allowed 3 catches this season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers played their last home game of their season outside of the AFC North. It was fitting as the top 2 defences in the NFL battled it out for field position and supremecy. Who Dey!

The Pittsburgh Steelers battled their hardest opponent yet, the 5-5 #2 ranked defence New York Jets put up a tough fight but it was the Pittsburgh Steelers who pretty much eliminated them from playoff spot.

The Steelers have shut out an opponent in the 4th quarter for two straight games

The Steelers will now play four straight away games which the end with the penultimate rivalry against the Baltimore Ravens.

James Harrison broke his record he set two seasons ago and now has 18 sacks.

PITTSBURGH, PA —

It was over when...
When Dennis Dixon threw an interception in overtime in his own 20 yard line, the Bengals nailed the field goal and ended Pittsburgh's 5 game win streak.

Game Ball
Cedric Benson carried the ball 24 times for 96 yards as he was key in the Bengals victory... Leon Hall had 3 tackles and 2 picks, one which was returned for a touchdown... Nedu Ndukwe had 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and the crutial interception in overtime that ended the game.

The Game started out with a 30 yard pass to Mike Wallace, but in snowy conditions no team could get the chain moving, but eventually the Steelers made two field goals to put the up 6-0 by Half Time, this included an advantage of 197 yards to 71 yards.

By second half the Bengals got their game together and midway through whilst Ben Roethlisberger got rocked he threw the ball that landed into he hands of Leon Hall who returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. The Steelers reattempted to get going again but Mike Wallace fumbled that led to a 3 and out, but again Ben Roethlisberger threw another interception.

Ben Roethlisberger left the game again only to watch Dennis Dixon get sacked in his own endzone to put the score to 6-9.

With just 1:50 remaining Dennis Dixon hooked up to Santonio Holmes for a 74 yard touchdown pass to put them up 12-9 but missed the extra point.

With fluke the Bengals bounced back and got back into field goal range with a phenominal drive by Benson putting the scores 12-12 with just 6 seconds left.

Midway through overtime Dennis Dixon threw an interception to Nedu Ndukwe who returned it 13 yards putting them into field goal range, where they kicked the field goal ending the game in overtime 12-15.

William Gay got his sixth interception of the season. Rookie Defensive Back Bryan Evans returns from his partially torn MCL and will replace Ike Taylor as the starter.

It was voted the Best Sunday Night game since Pittsburgh vs Baltimore.

Cedric Benson almost broke the 100 yard barrier that is hard to brake against a valiant Steelers defence.
