Dick Lebeau Retires ![]() In what may be a sad day for Steeler Nation Legendary Defensive Co-Ordinator Dick Lebeau who last year in 2010 was inducted into the hall of fame, has announced his retirement, When he entered the Steelers Organisation for a second time in 2004, he instantly guided them to the number 1 ranked defence only giving up 258.4 per game. In 7 years of service his defence was ranked #1 an incredible five times, and 6 times in the top 5, including a streak of 4 years of being the #1 ranked defence. His replacement will be Jerry Gray who was the Defensive Co-Ordinator for the Buffalo Bills from 2001-2005, in which his defense in 2003, 2004 were ranked #2. |

Mike Tomlin named 2010 Coach of the Year ![]() NFL.COM reports that Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin has been awarded the Coach of the Year award after coaching the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Super Bowl and winning it, although they far from even had a slight presence of domination in their division they won it through their unbeaten record in outer division games. "Thrivin' to Surivin' we will unleash hell in future seasons we will continue to build upon our 2010 success and move forward" |

Steelers Resign Many Players, Surpise a Few ![]() Santonio Holmes recieved a big paycheck, will remain in the burgh for quite some time NFL.COM reports that the Steelers wanted to get their would be free agents back to Pittsburgh, they made some surprising moves. They resigned Ike Taylor to a 1 year deal worth $5.76M with a bonus of $1.64M, it's unclear why Pittsburgh did this as he had a contract holdout for the better part of near 10 months. If the Steelers do draft a cornerback in the early rounds, it's almost probable Ike will be cut at the end of training camp. LaMarr Woodley who was voted to the Pro Bowl and wanted to be back with Pittsburgh was pleased to announce on his twitter page that he signed a 7 year deal worth $53.61M, with a bonus of $15.13M, combing him and James Harrisons money it's well over $100M. The Super Bowl XLIII MVP Santonio Holmes cashed in his cheque as he agreed to a 5 year deal worth $32M. Whilst Defensive Back of 2010 William Gay signed a 3 year deal worth $18M and Offensive Lineman Willie Colon came cheap has he agreed to a 3 year deal worth $15M. Among others signed was Goaline Sensation who plowed in 4 touchdowns last year Isaac Redman and special teams aces Daniel Sepulveda, Anthony Madison and Keyaron Fox. Dennis Dixon and Tony Hills signed 1 year deals through restricted free agency. Among the ones let go were Mewelde Moore, Chris Hoke, Arnold Frazier, Roy Lewis and Tuff Harris. Don't expect the Steelers to dip into Free Agency too much as the Draft will be soon. |

His Career can be redeemed as he enters the Steelers Training Camp as #2 behind the veteran Ryan Clark and above 26 year Old Ryan Mundy. He's on the outside looking in for a roster spot but if he plays well he might just secure himself as a backup. Last Night Huff agreed to $1.16M deal for one year, Among others signed were Quarterback Mike Reilly for training camp purposes and Wide Reciever Sinorice Moss |

Jacquizz Rodgers takes a visit to PA ![]() NFL.COM reports that the Steelers brought in Oregon State's Running Back sensation Jacquizz Rodgers. Reports say that he visited the Steelers complex for the better part of 4 hours before visiting the Philadelphia Eagles. Reports also come that the Steelers showed Virginia Techs Tyrod Taylor, Dyrell Roberts and Gator Janoris Jenkins around the complex and discussed the NFL with them. With the draft fast approaching the Steelers may be looking for a 3rd string Quarterback where Injuries has haunted them the last 2 years. |
