Default Steelers set to end Regular Season with a Playoff game...

Justin Sobieralski-WPAathletics.com STAFF

PITTSBURGH-Riding a two game winning streak, the 8-7 Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Miami to take on the 7-8 Dolphins, in what is shaping up to be the Steelers’ most important game of the season.

Pittsburgh has a record of 10-9 all time against the Dolphins, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s first career start back in 2004 essentially in the middle of a hurricane in Miami. It was Roethlisberger’s first career win.

Dolphins’ running back Ricky Williams is listed as questionable with an injured shoulder. Miami is already without the services of running back Ronnie Brown and quarterback Chad Pennington. Williams has 13 total touchdowns, 11 rushing and two receiving.

Both teams still have a chance to make the playoffs. Miami is on life support but is alive mathematically, while Pittsburgh still needs plenty help from other teams, but is in better shape after defeating the Baltimore Ravens last week.

After losing to the Houston Texans last week, the Dolphins saw their playoff chances swim away as they fell behind 27-3 in the first half. Miami made a valiant effort to score 17 second half points to mount a comeback, but time ran out, thus ending their season.

In order for Pittsburgh to make the playoffs, several scenarios must happen. Pay attention because this could get confusing.

Here are the teams fighting for two wild-card spots (stats from NFL.com)

Team Regular season record Conference record

Denver Broncos 8-7 6-5 (currently 5th seed)

New York Jets 8-7 6-5 (currently 6th seed)...
