Default Ravens Poem (12/27/09)

Last week the Ravens came to play in our back yard
We might get a win but it was going to be hard

Steelers and Ravens games are always a brawl
No matter the record - itís hard hitting football

Our opening drive was unsuccessful and we kicked it away
A couple minutes later Farrior intercepted their play

In the first half points were put up on both sides
But Ravens penalties kept turning the tides

Also back to back fumbles - one for each team
This game was enough to make you want to scream

A couple sacks and punts as the game went on
And the Steelers scored again before the half was gone

Mid third quarter the Ravens tied the score but the flags kept flying
And their chances of winning were slowly dying

With just over 2 minutes left Joe Flacco was sacked
Hood recovered the ball after Woodley attacked

The Ravens shot themselves in the foot early and often
But it was a penalty in the last 2 minutes that put the nail in the coffin

Ben threw a pick that a Ravens penalty would negate
We knew we would win - we just had to wait

Ravens didnít have any time outs left to use
All they could do was watch the clock run out and lose

Ray Rice ran for over a hundred yards before it was done
So that streak is over but we still won

Now we play the Dolphins and we must get a win
And hope for some help so the post season can begin!
