Default Dolphins Poem (01/03/10)

Here is the last poem for the season .. it took a little while to write ..

Week 17 we traveled to Miami to play the Fins
And we were watching other games hoping for some wins
We couldn’t lose our own game so we would have to play well
As for the other teams only time would tell
On the first drive came a TD to Holmes in the end zone
Then Miami took 9 plays to get a score of their own
Next came a long bomb TD to our “60 Minute Man”
We must keep him involved in our game plan
We would go to the half only up by one score
In the 3rd quarter though it would soon be more
The Dolphins had a new QB and we weren’t sure why
We would find out Chad Henne had injured his eye
Pat White took over - at least for a little bit
Until Ike Taylor took him out with a hit
I don’t wish injury to anyone - so I hoped he’d be okay
But we still had a game left to play
Unfortunately in the 4th quarter they let the Dolphins come back
We must somehow get our defense on track
Miami had one last chance to at least tie it
But Ike Taylor intercepted to deny it
We started 6-2 and ended 3-5
And needed help to keep our playoff hopes alive
We began the season hot but couldn’t finish what we started
And even though that may leave us all feeling broken hearted
Just remember we win more than we lose
And it is still the best team that we choose
Steeler Nation - have no fear
Our Black and Gold will be back next year!

That's a really cool poem, do you write poems for every game of the season?

Thank you :-) .

Yes, I used to write them for all the games back in the 90's when we would tailgate at TRS. I wish I had saved all those. I started writing them again in 2004, and I have saved those, so at last count I'm over 100. I have one for every regular season or postseason game since the Halloween beating of the Patriots. I have posted them on here for most of those years for others to enjoy.

Another great poem and thanks for sharing it. Can't wait to start reading them again for the 2010 regular season. Maybe you can do a draft one for us
