No Freddie Barnes... It's a shame. I hope he gets an add at some point. I talked to him last week and he was working with a speed coach (one of the reasons he turned down the Senior Bowl invite). Would be a great guy to have working out at the combine.

Agreed! I'm a BG guy and got to watch him play a lot the last couple years. I've been pimping this guy all year... and for good reason I think. He'd be a hell of a replacement in the slot for Ward.

The ONLY knock on him is will he be able to separate at the next level, and the leading indicator (YPC) is skewed against him because he caught too many damned balls!

I don't give a rats ass about his perceived lack of speed. He runs crisp routes and he catches everything thrown his way. I think he'll get open in the NFL.

I've seen him projected anywhere form 3-7, but, if this kid is there for us in the 4th, I'd love to grab him.

Yup. The BG offense was a YAC attack, much like the Packers was for years with Brett Favre... lots of quick slants, outs, screens, etc. That being said, his yardage total was so high because for every couple short passes Barnes caught, he'd find a way to find holes in the zone and get behind coverage on deep routes. As you might have seen in the Humanitarian Bowl against Idaho, Freddie's great at finding that one gap in coverage and using his body to shield defenders. I've been calling him Fred-ex for a couple years now. "He always delivers." haha

Agreed. Speed is an overrated stat for Wrs. If they run crisp routes and can catch they will get open 9/10 times.
