Preview
Obviously the sentimental favorite to win Super Bowl XLIV has to be the New Orleans Saints considering their franchise and fans have suffered through so many losing seasons and so little post-season success. The Saints have never so much as played in a Super Bowl while the Indianapolis Colts have a long illustrious history with five NFL championships under their belt, including four while they were still in Baltimore.

Saints Keys to Winning:

Keep Pressure on Manning - New Orleans' defense battered Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre in the NFC Championship, and they are going to have to knock Manning off his feet a few times as well if they hope to rattle him. They are probably going to have a little more trouble, however, with the Colts' offensive line.

Get an Early Lead - The Colts are at their most effective when they have the lead, so New Orleans can't afford to be trying to play catch up all day. If they are forced into throwing the ball time after time, the Colts' speedy defensive ends will simply pin their ears back and create havoc in the backfield.

Colts Keys to Winning:

Stop the Run - The Saints offense is so dangerous not only because they throw the ball so well, but because their effective run game gives them balance and makes it tough for defenses to key on one area. If the Colts can limit the run, they should control this game.

Don't Let Brees Get Comfortable - Manning may be on a level of his own, but Brees isn't that far behind. And if he has time and space to step into his throws he can get as hot as anyone in the league.

Super Bowl XLIV - Game Report

Indianapolis Colts (15-1) at New Orleans Saints (15-1)

Saints bring first Super Bowl title to New Orleans

Reggie Bush runs into the endzone to Win the Super Bowl

Box Score
- 03 - 03 - 07 - 07 - 00- 20

- 03 - 07 - 03 - 07 - 06- 26

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA—

It was over when...
With 6 minutes remaining in overtime Saints Running Back Reggie Bush went on a screen pass, caught the ball from Quarterback Drew Brees and entered the endzone to give the Saints it's first Super Bowl in in history.

Game Ball
Drew Brees booked himself as a first class hall of fame ballot with his MVP Performence in Super Bowl XLIV. Including breaking several records. He completed 48 of 59 passes for a completion percentage of 81% and threw for 468 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Key Stat
The Saints kept the Colts Quarterback Peyton Manning to just 189 yards throughout three quarters. This was the changing point as soon as he broke out he tore the Saints defense up.

Noteworthy
Robert Mathis sacked Drew Brees 3 times and recorded 7 tackles and a forced fumble. ... Jonathan Vilma had 7 tackles and the Saints lone sack.

Story
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The ultimate underdogs, they ain't. Not anymore. The Saints are Super Bowl champions now.

Drew Brees, Sean Payton and the entire city behind them overcame odds as the under dogs took home the Title in one of Sports Most Thrilling games.

It was the first Super Bowl to go to overtime. Some say Breesus was with the Saints as they won the coin toss at the start of the game and in Overtime in which they drove down the field to put the game away with a 1 yard screen pass to Reggie Bush.

"Four years ago, who ever thought this would be happening when 85 percent of the city was under water from (Hurricane) Katrina," Brees said. "Most people not knowing if New Orleans would ever come back or if the organization and the team would come back. ... This is the culmination of that belief and that faith."

The Saints (18-1) won three postseason games this winter after winning only two in the previous 42 years. They beat Dallas, Minnesota and Indianapolis (17-2) -- all division winners.

"Everybody back in New Orleans gets a piece of this trophy," Brees said.

"I think I could kiss him," owner Tom Benson said.

"Look around the stadium," linebacker Scott Fujita said. "It was like 6- or 7-to-1 (Saints fans). The black and gold just poured into Miami.

"The whole world was behind us. This was bigger than just a game for the Saints. We are the world's team."

Ben Roethlisberger wins Steeler Player of the Year

Rejoice you must as Ben Roethlisberger had one of his better seasons as an NFL Elite Quarterback.

"The Award is totally flattering" Said the two time super bowl winning Quarterback "I couldn't not of done it without the help of Bruce Arians my O-Line, Hines, Tone Heath and Mike, they all did a great job, we earned this together"

Ben Roethlisberger became the first NFL Quarterback to throw for 570+ Yards and nearly the first in attempts but that didn't stop him becoming the first Pittsburgh Steeler to throw for 4000 yards.

Despite going 8-8 after a 6-2 start Ben Roethlisberger had thrown 17 touchdowns (at that time led the NFL) and just 5 interceptions.

As the Steelers season went disastrous in the next two games he threw 6 interceptions and just 1 touchdown.

In the last five games he finished strong throwing for 1483 yards (296.9 per game) and 9 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

He was orginally voted to the Pro Bowl but the Colts withdrew Peyton Manning for health reasons, but if cleared Peyton will be the third Quarterback and not Ben Roethlisberger.

LaMarr Woodley tackles his way to Steelers Defensive MVP of the Year

Is there a better pass rusher in the AFC or NFC like LaMarr Woodley who was double teamed all year long and was one sack shy of tying the Most Sacks in Steeler history set 1 year before by counterpart James Harrison.

"Man i don't know what to say, go hard i guess, i just want to say thanks to Dick Lebeau inventing me in this league, he's the sack machine" said Woodley who took the prestigious award home.

Just as he was about to step down from the podium he left one last message "Philip Rivers, I'm coming for you in the playoff's next year"
