Pittsburgh Post-Gazette A Municipal Court hearing for Steelers kicker Jeff Reed was postponed yesterday until 12:30 p.m. March 1 because the police officer who issued multiple citations against him was unavailable to appear. Reed traveled from his home in North Carolina for the proceeding. Dressed in a dark business suit, he stood before the bench for less than 30 seconds and did not speak. Later, attorney Robert Del Greco said the commonwealth requested the postponement and the defense consented. No reason was given why the police officer was unavailable. Citations for simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were issued against Reed outside McFadden's Bar on the North Side after a game Oct. 18 against the Cleveland Browns. Reed's Atlanta-based agent, Don Henderson, contested the citations and said his client was wrongfully detained. Police were issuing a citation to tight end Matt Spaeth for public urination when Reed got out of a vehicle and a confrontation ensued. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10043...d=steelers.xml
