INDIANAPOLIS — We haven’t seen all of the offensive linemen run 40-yard dashes Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium, but some notable names were in the first group.
The best performance came from Maryland’s Bruce Campbell, who from the old “eye” test looks every bit a complete athlete. Campbell posted unofficial times of 4.78 and 4.81 seconds, and since he also did 34 bench-press repetitions Friday, he could be the early nominee for combine workout warrior — the player who forces talent evaluators to go back and take a second look at his game tapes. “That’s an unbelievable time,” NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks noted after Campbell’s 4.78 run. “He’s the star offensive lineman of the combine so far.” NFL Network’s Scott Hanson, who along with Brooks is broadcasting live throughout the day on NFL.com/LIVE, noted that Campbell could have a second career in the WWE. Sadly, I can’t say I disagree. Some of the other better unofficial times in the first group of linemen: Selvish Capers (5.09), Chris Degeare (5.15), Dorian Brooks (5.17) and Joe Hawley (5.18). – Frank Tadych |

Sign me up. He's a great athlete at tackle and someone I'd love to see in a Steelers jersey next year. 4.8 is phenominal for someone with his size and skills. I'd like to see how his agility drills go. If he shows some adequate footwork, I'm sure he's going to jump up some boards.

I'm really worried that Campbell might be fools gold. Watch this vid it looks like he stands straight up and doesn't stay crouched. He could get away with that in college but pro DE and OLB will eat him alive if he blocks like that. This guy would make an awsome DE but I'm not so sure about OT . Yes I know he hasn't played much at LT but why the hell is he not on D?

The announcers even said the guy barely finished the games he started...and to not get all hyped up on stupid combine numbers they can easily fool you (see Vernon Gholston). I do NOT want to see him as a Steeler...thanks but no thanks.

I mean who knows...he could end up being good...but from what I've seen and from what the announcers at the combine said and what i'm learning about him (as ive stated before i dont watch a lot of college football or study all the prospects)...i'd just rather not take the chance...especially in the first round.

Campbell is gonna go early because of the combine. We wont have a shot at him. He should take a couple years to develop, but in the right position he could be a franchise LT.
If Campbell stayed in school, he would have been a top 5 pick next year. Just like if Russell Okung came out last year he would have been drafted behind Jason Smith, Andre Smith, Oher, Monroe...and probably been top of the 2nd round.
