Draft forecast by position

What order do you see us drafting by position?

Knowing our team history, talent, and depth at our positions, I would predict (Other than the best available player ala Mendy):

1st Round-DL
2nd-S
3rd-LB
4th-OL
5th-WR
6th-RB
7th-CB

Your guesses?

it depends who is avaliable when we pick. if the top safties are not there in the 1st then i say we grab a left tackel if there avaliable. if not a corner. we need a major defense overhaul and we have to do it in this draft.

If we dont get RYan back defensive back is our no 1 immediate need, was coming into the draft

we need another DE a NT a saftey and corner. our offense put up enough points last year but the defense couldnt hang so we need to pick up some good defensive players. yes our OL is not to good and if a LT is avaliable then i say take him but our offensive was good enough to win a superbowl last year as is

I don't think he was just a BPA pick. We picked him because Parker sucked and someone finally recognized that. Or at least that we needed to replace him soon.

For this year, my guess is:

1 - LB
2 - OL
3 - DL
4 - DB/WR/RB (depending on which of Townsend/Clark/Carter/Sweed/Parker/Redman/Summers are not coming back)

after that, anybody's guess.

You could also flip-flop OL with DL depending on who's available (e.g. a decent nose tackle). But I wouldn't put DL at No. 1 again, because let's face it -- even though they're getting older, two of our three starters aren't going anywhere for the next three years, and we got a steal by grabbing two guys with potential in last year's draft.

Also, I would NEVER be surprised to see us take a LB in the first round, plus it's a position that needs replenishment soon. Particularly at ILB, since Timmons can be the OLB depth if needed.

Without guessing on the compensatory picks are gonna be, this is what I would hope for

1. Offensive Lineman
2. Inside LB
3. Secondary-- DB or S
4. DE / DT
5. Offensive Lineman-- Center would be nice
6. WR or Special Teamer
7. QB, RB, TE or D Lineman

Yeah, it's really dependent on who's available, but based on my own assumptions about who's gone and who's still available, I'll say it goes:
1st - S
2nd - C
3rd- G
4th- WR
4th comp- RB
5th- NT
5th comp- CB
6th- OLB
7th- G
7th comp- TE

Of course, it's pure speculation. If Rolando McClian somehow drops to us, the I see us going ILB in the first, and if Haden drops to us maybe we go CB. But right now, I think our draft will look something like this.
