Default Foote and Randle El provide leadership

I like the return of Foote and ARE, but not just for the depth we now have. Those guys were loved in the locker room. Maybe the morale those guy provide would prevent a 5 game losing streak for instance

Yup we need a #5 lb on the team and a #4 or 5 wr to provide leadership.

Neither provides depth were the def faulters in the secondary. Doubtful them being on the team changes that.

exactly. its obvious alot of members here dont like that we signed either but they both provide depth and can work with the younger guys and help them. ARE is nice incase ward goes down again this year and i would like to see foote take over for farrior or at least take half the snaps for him.

Or was it because of that pass happy offense that we employed last year that kept the D nice and fresh when it counted. Not to mention that 2 key starters were missing from that side of the ball.

Farrior has maybe a couple seasons left, and Foote is about 5 years younger.

Ward has maybe a couple seasons left, and Randle El is about 5 years younger.

Anyone else see where they're going with this?

Agree BB swagger andSteelreserve....

Foote was playing 50% of the time and way less in the SB with us. Obviously they deem him not a starter yesterday or today, and if that is the case, not tomorrow. So to toss 3mill at him, and over pay ARE I dont understand it.

ARE is not the 2nd coming of Ward thats for sure. Hopefully the way they are strucutred they are really one year "what if" deals.

Ward only has a couple years left are you NUTS!!! Ward has at least another 10 to 15 years left in him. I wouldn't mind if he played with us forever. Nobody ever has played the position of WR like him and he is rubbing off on others who line up with him. I don't care if he is to short and not quick enough I wouldn't trade or let him go for any reason.

Hines Is The Man!!! Don't be talkin' bout him like that.

I agree and they're both good for depth, but neither is starting material. Randle El could be the #3 WR but I don't want to see Foote starting an ILB. As long as we draft an ILB this year to eventually replace Farrior we'll be good.

Both were good Steelers. If they can pick up some slack or fill a hole no damage done. Yeah theres other needs........these guys might help a lot though. El is an all purpose athlete.....if he still can slip tackles he might be a nice option on gadget plays. Foote is a good guy off the bench if somebody goes down. Might be motivated now too.
