My Annual Cleveland Indians Thread....

Light on predictions this year, since I couldn't have been farther off in my last years.

However, this team should definitely be able to score some runs, and if Hafner and Sizemore are truly back to form, and Brantley is as good as advertised, they might score a LOT of runs. I think Choo will have a break-out year and be recognized as a star.

Pitching is a HUGE question mark. When your staff ace hasn't thrown a single big league pitch in nearly two years, well...

If the pitching is better than bad, they will still be better than last year. If they have an average staff, maybe as good as a .500 year....

I think we will have alot of 10-8 games this year. We will be a very good hitting team this year. I have to say that after 4 games the pitching looks good.

Knew the bats would come alive...and they should STAY alive. Westbrook looked sharp yesterday, too...I think the starting rotation may turn out to be fine. But yesterday? Blowing a 7-1 lead?

Too be fair, this early, they are going to protect starting pitchers a little more and hold them to strict pitch counts. Most starters are going to be yanked at 5-6 innings no matter what, which, with a weak pen, is going to hurt Cleveland more than other teams. But you just hate to see that this early. Already, where the Tigers should be 4-2 and the Tribe 3-3, it's 5-1 and 2-4...these kind of losses have a way of coming back to haunt you, even in a 162 game season.

4-2 loss in the home opener. If we come out of April with 10 wins I call it a victory.

Fausto pitched well AGAIN, and again they didn't hit for him...dude should be 2-0. Bullpen looked slightly less shitty, but still shitty. They need to take the next 2 from the Rangers and get this ship righted.

Hmmmmmm....what's going on? Back to back complete games where they only give up 2 runs? First Huff, which I could see because he was surging last year, but then TB cast-off Talbot?

And they hit some yesterday as well...4-6...and you're starting to see a little confidence from the club. Interesting...

Westbrook pitched damn good today and glad to see Cabera and Choo help him out even though he didnt get the W. Im pretty sure this team could suprise a few people in 2010

I know were only 12 in, but, Dayum, does Choo look like the real deal or what? The Tribe now has two all-star caliber outfielders, and Brantley is supposed to be "next", so that makes things interesting.

Fausto sharp again...and Wood will be back soon as closer. This will be a tough road trip, A's, Twins, and Angels....we'll see how they do on the road against good teams playing well and re-assess in a couple weeks, but I'd say .500 is more than a reasonable expectation at this point...which is still VERY early!

Another good outting by Talbot. Going 1-2 against the Twins in their new stadium isn't horrible. Beautiful ballpark, too...

Need to go .500 the rest of the way on this road trip...
