another by product of this moment is that Bill Cowher can now be mentioned in the same breath with the top coaches in the league without any legitimate (or even stupid) arguments by fans from other cities like me. this SB win legitimizes everything else, turning the "failures" into pluses on the resume. He is proven his talents by how he took this team when it was 7-5 and drove it on to a Championship. Im still a Belichick butt boy, but Cowher isnt far behind now.
As far Ward, i still dont put him with Swann and Stallworth, but last year after Branch won a SB MVP I pointed to that as something Ward had never come close to, dominating a championship moment. He has shut me up on that for good. Cowher,Ward, and Bettis all will end up in Canton some day. I have been shown and I salute them all. |
