If this is true then do we draft Dez Bryant if he is there at the 18th pick? Will Bryant be able to keep himself straight? Now what do the Steelers do with Ben?

Sources: Steelers trade Holmes

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded troubled wide receiver Santonio Holmes to the New York Jets for a fifth-round pick in this year's draft, sources confirmed Sunday night.

ESPN 1050 in New York first reported the story Sunday night.

Holmes had recently been accused of throwing a glass at a women in a lounge. No charges have been filed against him, and Holmes' lawyer, Adam Swickle, told The Associated Press a male witness has taken responsibility for tossing the glass.

Holmes was entering his fifth season with the Steelers and has 235 catches for 3,835 yards and 20 touchdowns. But he has also had off-the-field incidents. In 2006, he was involved with a domestic violence charge and in 2008, he was arrested for the possession of marijuana.

As a player, though, Holmes has the talent to be a No. 1 receiver. He was Super Bowl MVP in Super Bolw XLIII.

John Clayton is a senior writer for ESPN.com. Information from ESPN.com's Tim Graham was used in this report.

Think it's 2010 not 2011 but they stIll stole him from us. I think his contracts up soon but still I would say atleast a 3rd rounder, he's a playmaker. Is this a sign they're looking at the falling dez Bryant? He's no saint either.

OMG.. What a joke this is.. Why cut him loose now? So he misses 4 games at the start of the year.. We could still use him next year.. i understand not signing him but just to give him away to an AFC team is pure robbery..

I don't get it..

Absolutely insane. A 5th? Retarded.

Hell just keep him on the team and accept the 4 game suspension over a 5th round pick, Jesus.

I'm going to guess that this means the suspension rumor is true, because someone else has admitted to throwing the glass. And I'll also guess they were planning on letting him go anyway so they might as well get something in return, but a 5th is still a bad deal.

Maybe they think they have enough depth at WR to make up for it.
