look at how this city rallies for its teams. the pens and whoever controls their fortunes should see this and keep them here. tho the pirates get support for in april and fireworks night so that doesnt say much.

I would say so, like what really is there to follow in Pittsburgh right now, the Steelers are SuperBowl XL Champs and they will obviously be the talk of the town the rest of year(they always have been anyways), the Pirates are in there off-season and don't look that good next year(Thank god I'm a Jays fan), And with the vets like Palffy, and Lemiuex retiring in the middle of the year, theres not much that can help the Pens right now, the only thing that will keep them in Pittsburgh is Crosby(Man I wish he was a Leaf).

If Patrick didn't drop the ball this year maybe the situation would be different.

whats there to follow in pittsburgh, have you heard of PITT??? there b-ball team is a top 15 and has been competitive for years.
the football team will rebound under dave w. and had one of the best classes this offseason. support your local university teams! and pirates and pens teams! no qualms here if you root for the toronto argonauts tho! :) |

The Pens and the Pirates struggles is more then the owners and players for the teams. They are bio-products of two pathetic leagues in the MLB and NHL. I heard that Mark Cuban was interested in buying I think it was the Pirates or something a while back, I heard he was from that area in Penn, I wouldnt mind seeing him take over the Pens and putting some juice back into the league as well as the team. Its really sad how the MLB and NHL didnt take pages from the NBA and NFL when it came to balance for all teams. In football it has hit its peak, I know the NBA is on its way being that the CBA caters for team to be able to sign their own players for more money. I hope MLB and NHL fix themselves in the next decade so that the Pens and Pirates can compete...

OX, with baseball I agree. It's not even worth watching in my opinion. It's a joke.
The NHL on the other hand got it's act together. Everybody has a fair shot at Lord Stanley. Craig Patrick had a vault full of cash to spend on players and he blew it. Hopefully he's gone after this season. If this year is not a reason for him to be fired, I don't know what is.
