Casey Hampton and 2rd traded to Packers!
with days before the draft Hampton and 2nd sent to Packers
Hampton played college football with the Texas Longhorns, starting in 37 consecutive games. He earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Conference Team and was Defensive Player of the Year. Hampton was selected 19th overall in the 2001 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and made an immediate impact as a force in the middle of the Steelers' 3-4 defensive scheme. He is known as an effective run stopper and has opened many options for blitzing linebackers. Hampton has since been selected to four Pro Bowls and was a member of Steelers when they won 2 Super Bowl's The steelers gave up hampton in a surpise trade with the packers.who in return are sending 1 year DT B.J Raji and ROLB Clay Matthews and ILB A.J. Hawk. Raji made the 3-4 conversion for the packers better the expected thanks to his play leading the way. Matthews set a team rookie record with team-high 10 sacks.
