Yah, Ike may get my vote for MVP for the playoffs (other than Ben) but last night he played way to far off of Jackson for the first half. He was the only reason I was screaming at the TV the whole game. But improved in the 2nd half. Other than the first half of the game, he played one hell of a playoff run.

Guys, he did NOT get torn apart, even on the opening couple drives. They always start in their base package which leaves both corners in zone, you cannot press in zone, you play 7-10 off the man, they were running 4-6 yard routes, a zone GIVES those up, so it was not Ike getting burnt it was our scheme getting worked. As soon as that was adjusted, Ike played brilliantly, the man one on one is one of the best in the league, they need to start putting him in that situation more often.

Another INT and I'd have voted him as MVP. I can't remember if it was Ike or Deshan that was one of my Super Bowl MVP's on Madden?

If Big Ben connects to Cedrick instead of the INT, he would have been MVP. I dont think Ike did enough to win MVP. If anyone in the secondary I would have said Hope because that boy was laying the hammer on anyone that came in his area...

Ike didn't play well enough to be considered for the MVP.
Sure he had 10 tackles but about 5 of those came on the first drive because the Jackson was catching the ball underneath his coverage. Had he snagged that first INT then I would give it to him. |

The "race" for MVP is truly a 'photo finish'. Since only one player can win it Hines gets it by default even though he dropped two key passes - one a TD. Yeah Ike and Haggans made key plays. So did Keisel. Casey made a big sideline tackle after being deep in the trenches. Smith made a sideline tackle preventing a 12 yard run from becoming 25. Randle El made the biggest play of his career finally erasing the horrors of the fumbled pitch in the New England game. Foote and Townsend made plays.
For Micheal Eisner, photos of Hines Ward wearing Mickey Mouse ears would sell. |

Wow.. I was at the game and the folks sitting around me (myself included) couldn't believe how bad Ike Taylor was getting torched in the 1st half. The Seapigeons picking their way right down the field in front of Ike played a big part in taking the crowd out of it early on. He was 1 for 2 on interception balls in his hands and spent most of the game chasing guys that made plays against him.

Can't believe I'm posting this again...IKE did NOT get torched!!! You need to understand zone defenses to see this, he is supposed to give that 3-5 yrd route up, its how the D is set up to play. So it was not Ike's fault, he was doing what he was told, when they switched to man how many more balls did his guy catch?? Jackson had a great 1st quarter (when we were in our base) ..... he sucked after the Steelers adjusted.
