Total noob to the forums but thought I'd come here to pick up my spirits. I'm a diehard steelerfan living in neb. and I have absolutely no friends that are steelerfans so they are constantly giving me shit about the game. I got to say, to go through the third, second and first seeds the way the steelers did and not just winning them but making a statement by dominating makes me just freakin hate how the superbowl went. I wanted a dominant performance and for big Ben to have the game that he's been having throughout the playoffs. Do I think the refs won it for pittsburgh? HELL NO!!! Pittsburgh came up with the big plays and capitalized on seattle's mistakes. I think the ball crossed the goallne by about an inch and how it was called on the field (touchdown) there was just no indisputable evidence to overturn it. Was that a pass interference? Going be the rules, yep. Maybe ticky tack but a pushoff non the less. Was that a holding call? I got to say seeing it in real time my reaction was "holyshit, that guy just tackled him". Seeing it in replay, quite honestly It could go either way. Plays like that happen all the time, some get called and some don't. Heard something said on Rome today, "the best team won, but the team that played the best didn't" I bleed black and gold but all this ref talk is pissin me off... end of rant!!

I thought about starting a topic like this too. Watch the news, read the news and the only people saying Pitt didn't earn this win are Seattle writer/fans and people who would be obscure if they weren't controversial (Skip). Everyone else said the best team won.
It sucks to come to the SF Forum and have to defend a win rather than enjoy it. One of the mods made a great recommendation: "ignore". I've put the biggest cry babies on my ignore list. It works great. I recommend that all Steelers fans here stop honoring their whines with a response. A response falsely appears to validate their complaint. By the way, the win does get sweeter when you realize you've beaten a bunch of whiney sore losers. Last edited by TexaSteeler; 02-06-2006 at 10:53 PM. |

I know, I know. I don't really care about the bad calls because even if they went the Hawks way we still would of won, but living by Seattle I have to make a case for the calls and defend it. If I don't than it sounds like I don't care about "cheating." I wish people could just let the Steelers and fans enjoy the win. It was a great misfortune that there was so many close calls, but they where called the right way.

Screw'em. It's not even worth getting into detail (play by play) with some of these morons. At this point in time, all that matters to me is that the Lombardi Trophy is currently residing at 100 Art Rooney Avenue Pittsburgh, PA and I'm loving it.

Well this may make you fill a little better; you see how their coach Holmgren and the Seahsqawks fans are behaving after this SB loss. Can you just imagine how they would have conducted themselves if they would have won?
The best team and the best fans won that game there is no doubt in my mind, I think the Seattle fans should look back at this as a learning experience. They need to learn how to be better fans and support there team, their coach needs to learn how to conduct himself with some class and take reasonability for his part in the loss and show some class afterwards. Hell his own family was not even there to support him or the team, Cowers family was there you can bet money they would have put off any plans they had for one week. I think that the Seattle organization really needs to look inward and stop making excuses. First off learn how to support your team. I mean all I hear is how the Seahawks had to play in an arena full of Steeler fans, whose fault is that? Last time I checked Detroit is only a few hour plane ride form any major city in the continental US. Then I read how Seattle fans were selling there tickets to steeler fans on eBay’s; again I ask you do you think any real steeler fan would give up their tickets for anything? Hell no they would not. More importantly I think the Seattle Organization needs to learn how to conduct themselves with some class and dignity after a tuff loss. Don't blame the refs, the media, or that that the steeler fans showed up to support their team, look inside and learn how to be a better team for next year. I think your team played one hell of a game and you should be proud of that, now stop crying and learn how to support them if they make it to the big game next year.Fan Lesson number #1 Do not let Martha Stewart represent your team in any pregame media events, I was stunned watching hear in her Seahawk jersey surrounded by Seahawk fans, explaining how to make the perfect game treats and how to color coordinate for the game, I mean common this football not tennis. I almost choked on my beer on that one. X -Holmgren Fan No excuse for after the game behavior, none. X- Bradshaw Fan No excuse not to be there for his team and the Burgh. I agree with Casteel, Go outside, take a deep breath, and YELL at the top of your lungs, STEELERS....ONE FOR THE THUMB BABY!!!!! :sign08: My Steeler Links: http://www.teamffl.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2120 Last edited by ffljaguar; 02-07-2006 at 06:24 AM. |
