I don't see them dropping J. Scott.. I think they like him and the new Steelers OL coach was with the Bills last year.. Urbik, Leguarsky, Hills, C. Scott and Foster will fight for 2 or maybe 3 spots.

I definitely see Eason on the team.. I think Sonny is practice squad material unless he made a big improvement..

The problem with that is we put him on the practice squad last year and Carolina snatched him up. We only got him back after they put him on their PS.

Default Re: Depth Chart Predictions

After training camp, Dwyer will replace Moore at #2 on the depth chart and eventually will be rotating entire drives with Mendenhall like Willie was last year (IE Mendy for 2 drives, than Dwyer for 1)

Pouncey will start from day 1 replacing Essex

Bmac will also start day 1, either Lewis or Burnett will be 3rd on the CB depth chart and Gay will be 4th or 5th

Ziggy Hood will still be 3rd on the DE chart but will see his fair share of playing time, will be a starter if Keisel or Smith go down and may replace Kiesel if he doesn't play well enough.

Batch will be dead last on the depth chart. Leftwich will start in Ben's absence but Dixon will still see playing time, he won't be on the bench entire games he'll get in for some plays/drives

WR will go: Hines/Wallace/ARE/Sweed/Sanders/Battle

I agree. No way Fox doesn't make this roster.

Harris will beat out our 7th round pick.

We'll lose Sonny if we put him on the P.S. I would find a way to keep him on the roster.

53 Final Spots

QB (3): Roethlisberger, Leftwich, Dixon
RB (3): Mendenhall, Moore, Redman (Dwyer to PS)
FB (1): Summers
WR (6): Ward, Wallace, Randle El, Battle, Sanders, Sweed
TE (3): Miller, Spaeth, Johnson
OT (4): Starks, Colon, Scott J, Foster, (Scott, C - PS)
OG (3): Pouncey, Kemoeatu, Stapleton
C (2): Hartwig, Legursky

DT: (2) Hampton, Hoke
DE: (5) Smith, Keisel, Hood, Eason, Harris
OLB: (4) Harrison, Woodley, Worilds, Gibson
ILB: (4) Timmons, Foote, Farrior, Fox (Sylvester - PS)
CB: (6) Taylor, McFadden, Gay, Burnett, Lewis, Butler
SS: (2) Polamalu, Mundy
FS: (2) Clark, Allen

ST: (3) Reed, Sepulveda, Warren

I think the last spot will be between Urbik, C. Scott and Sweed. Hines is getting old and we need to develop WRs. If Ward goes down, our most experienced WR is Wallace and that is not good. So I am thinking they will keep 6 WRs on the roster this year.

I also think that Darnell Stapleton will be on our active roster this year and be the #1 guard backup. I predict he will win a spot over Essex and Urbik. If Essex is kept - he may kick Legursky out as both Stapleton and Pouncey could play center if Hartwig gets injured so we may not need to keep a backup center.

I think we keep 6 CBs including the rookie Butler and at least 8 LBs which means that the last roster spot will be fought between Fox and Sylvester. I'll say Fox for now because of experience - but I wouldn't be surprised if Sylvester is kept with the trend toward youth movement.

As for the new rookies, Pouncey, Worilds, Sanders, Gibson, Butler make the team. C Scott, Sylvester, Dwyer are PS. Brown and worthington may make the PS but they will need to beat out some free agent rookies.

I like Redman over Dwyer. No way do we not keep Battle after paying him that signing bonus. If you insist on only 5 WR - Battle stays and Sweed goes. I don't see us keeping 4 TEs.

Its already been announced Stapleton will not be back. They didn't tender him a contract.. I think he was looking at the Giants or someone like that and should sign with someone after the draft..

As soon as we practice squad Dwyer someone will grab him. Anyway he's probably already better than Redman.

What does Battles really bring that Sweed doesn't. I'll give him special teams but we rarely go five wide (we use Miller as the fifth when we do) so neither of them are likely to get on the field offensively. To me it comes down to one thing which is Sweed's potential outweighs Battle's special teams ability.

And the tight ends arn't true tight ends. McHough and Johnson are more like H-Backs. They do a lot of lead blocking for us and on the goaline, in three tight set, I'd much rather have Johnson, McHough and Miller on the field than Spaeth for any one of them.

By the way, you probably want to redo you 53 considering Stapleton isn't with the team anymore.
