Default 3 wide vs Fullback vs 2TE vs 4W

What's your favorite offensive set?
1. 3 Wide Receivers
2. Fullback
3. 2 Tight Ends
4. 4 WR no TE

I know everyone has been hard on BA saying he doesn't like FBs. I agree with him. My favorite set is the 3WRs. Having a FB can be misleading. It means there will be one more person in the box. How good is your fullback?

If you use 3WR, they have to send someone to cover that WR. If that WR is fasst, he may even force the safety to help tus taking up 2 people.

I'd like to see 3WR with Ward, Wallace, and Sanders (or Sweed). Sanders can run the kind of routs Wallace ran next year and take some off the top.

So which set would you like us to use (and which players)?

kind of tied between 3 wide receivers and 2 wide with a FB. I think those two are what this team is built for.

Everyone always assumes a FB helps your running but if we force 3WR and force them to keep their nickel defense out there, it can break rhythm. How good is their 3rd corner? Imagine us, we would have to take Hampton out if they did it consistently.

Instead of having the occasional 3W or just on 3rd and long, I would rather have an occasional FB.

Keep the FB in to protect the QB.

It seems most are agreeing that 3WR is great but when BA says he doesn't like FBs, they gave him a tough time. People just like to hate on him. BA needs to improve our Red Zone offense but he's done the best with what we have. He helps Ben turn in his best year and we end up with a 1000 yard runner and 2 1000 yard receivers (with the 3rd over 700). Red Zone needs to improve but I do like BA.

I can't agree with 2TE because I'd rather have Sanders out there over Spaeth. I'd rather run against nickel defenses.

Keep in mind that allows them to bring an extra rusher. Whoever was assigned to the FB will be free to rush...or stay back in coverage and help out.

Screw that -- I want 5 TEs and an empty backfield! Think how good we woulda been if we got Tebow and ran THAT as our base offense

... in all seriousness, I am also tied between 3WR and 2WR+FB. It kind of depends on whether we have a FB who's any good. If it's Carey Davis, I don't really see the point of putting him on the field. Miller is also good enough to basically be a third receiver in 2WR sets or an extra blocker in 3WR sets, so I like the flexibility that gives us.

Also, throw in there that the I form with 3WRs is possible, as is 3WR+2RB (no fullback). Those seem more suited to a well-rounded back who can also catch -- something we didn't have until Parker's sorry ass got booted from the starting job. Not that I'd expect us to use them as our base offense -- especially since Miller wouldn't be in -- but for a series here and there it could be a pretty dangerous look.

Keeping the D honest is a good point. If I were playing the Steelers, I would love to force Hampton to keep running on and off the field. Fine. But my goal was to get what people want our MAIN set to be. As much as possible, I want to see 3WRs.
