I 'laughed' at Fedko's report, but Madden's story said something about "reports-close-to Cowher/Fox Chapel" , and it made me think it could be true.....

As I stated earlier, I WASN'T trying to stir-the-pot on the day of this parade, just thinking maybe I was that far outta-the-loop.....

Oh please don't take my comments the wrong way. I'm not accusing you of stirring the pot. I just feel your looking into this story further than you should be. I don't want you to get an ulcer over this story, that's all.

As for Alexander being a bag boy, won't happen. He wouldn't be able to bash Steeler fans on a regular basis like he normally does on the show down.

I can't think of a reason for him to leave, other than family.. or do they live in Pittsburgh to? Isn't he like 40 something? Or is that someone else?

He is 40 something, and I am pretty sure that his family lives in Pittsburgh. (98%confident)

The story goes that he may retire, so he can take his family to a southern state, where his girls can play college basketball, then he would come-back in a few years to resume his coaching career.....

I can't believe he would do that, but the basketball story-line is plausible:
I think Bill Cowher is 48-49.....

Cowher is playing with house money now for the next 5 years of his career (based on Billick still having a job 5 seasons after the Ravens won). Why leave?

My recollection is the only SB winning coaches that quit were Lombardi & Walsh (after multiple wins), Vermeil (who sort of got forced out to placate Martz), and Jimmy Johnson (who sort of got fired). The Cowher-Rooney relationship is not exactly comparable to Johnson-Jerry Jones.

Cowher is going nowhere.

I think Bill Cowher after finally getting that sweet taste of a Superbowl victory isn't going to be happy with just one.

As long as Mr. Rooney is in charge and Cowher is fielding competitive teams he'll be the head coach in Pittsburgh for years to come.

[QUOTE=4xSBChamps]I'm a newb here..... and I'm NOT trying to stir-up rumors or gossip.....

..... but I've heard 2 local Pixburgh on-air personalities (neither of whom I'm very fond-of ), discussing the possibility of Bill Cowher retiring, in the last 3 hours:
is this just BS?

[/QUOTE

That's just plain stoopid noise.

Al Davis has announced he will be selling the Raiders. George Bush is resigning as POTUS. Madonna is doing a porno. Iran is conducting joint military operations with Israel. John Madden now boarding AA Flight 385 to Honolulu.

And...Bill Cowher has resigned as HC of the Pittsburgh Steelers
