With Memorial Day Coming Up....

With Memorial Day coming up....I just wanted to rant about something that REALLY pisses me off.

Any politician who uses exaggeration or stright out lies about their military service to pretend they are patriots....is a POS.

What a slap in the face of those who have actually served...who have actually placed themselves in harms way...who have actually shed blood... or have been buried on foreign soil after paying the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Sure, I understand why they do it. To some its apparently not enough to have worn a military uniform. They never felt the pride that comes with getting up every day knowing that you are serving your country and defending freedom. They may have "served", but they never understood that every soldier is part of the process. To serve is an honor unto itself.

However, when running for office, these prideless ass-hats think that everyone has the same opinion of the common soldier...that everyone else sees no honor in any soldier who was anything less than a combat Vet.

C'mon...everyone wants to vote for John Wayne...right?

WRONG!!!!

As a combat Vet I have a great deal of pride in what I did...but I have just as much pride and appreciation for the supply personnel...for the cooks...for the clerks...for all those who made it possible for our units to perform with efficiency. I appreciate those who remained state-side...standing in the gap while we were deployed elsewhere. To minimize or exaggerate your own role in... the National Guard...The Reserves...the support soldiers of our armed services... is to show a lack of respect to all veterans.

These clowns, like Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, piss me off. Dont think for a second that he doesnt know the difference between serving "during" and serving "in" the Vietnam War. Dont think for a second that he wasnt playing a false patriotic card to further his political goals. Dont think for a second that while he claims "pride" in his service...it wasnt exactly the opposite,in a lack of pride in the armed services and in his role, that made him LIE about the extent of his involvement.

Memorial Day is a day for us to remember and honor those who have served.....Politicians like Richard Blumenthal...tarnish that memory by associating lies with service.

I had a Marine client that lied to me about serving in Iraq, I promptly informed him that as a veteran I cannot tolerate when people lie about their service and he should consider finding a new lawyer.

As for the POTUS skipping Arlington, that's probably a better thing in the long run. He's already made it a point to apologize to lesser nations because of the things our soldiers have fought to secure for America. So why should he disgrace Arlington cemetery with his presence!
