Default Electric Football

Did anyone else see this very interestin article from ESPN on the "underground" electric football following??

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...t&lid=tab1pos1

I found it very interesting. My dad always told me how much him and his brother played back in the early 60's. When my grandma died a few years back we were cleaning out her house and found my dad's old electric football game. I still have it now. I know some of you guys are older on here and probably played yourselfs...

I played me the HELL out of some electric football when I was a kid. What stands out in my memory 20+ years later was me and my friend both had the same game, and the "Hometeam" always played as the Steelers and the visitor was stuck with the Cowboys, and we both cheated and made the Cowboys all the little dudes that ran backwards or in circles and such, so the score was always like 100-7. Also, kicking and passing was impossible, especially passing. There was a tiny little rubber football that you had to release from the QB's arm and hit some part of the receiver...the best QB #'s EVER in electric football were slightly worse than what Tommy Maddox with a blindfold on and hopped up on meth could achieve...but we didn't care.

I've done some more research into the electric football scene and the stuff is pretty intricate, from the painting of the figures to scripted plays. Some even boil and manipulate the bases to get a desired result. Here are some painting pics of Steelers teams.

I thought he wore 67 as a rookie, and it was a trivia question...but maybe that was Joe Greene...one of those 2 guys had a different number as a rookie.
