Talking Steelers Jersey/Name plate question

Hey guys, just a quick question to all of you in hope for an answer. Last year i bought a santonio holmes jersey, but of course now we traded him away ( in a lousy deal, imo, very) and i was highly upset by the trade. Holmes was one of my favorites but now he is gone and the Steelers will move on proudly and continue in a winning direction. With Dixon changing his number to 10 this season i was wondering how or if it was possible to switch the "Holmes" on my jersey to "Dixon". Ive searched the internet but cannot find anything too helpful. Has anyone done something like this to a Steeler jersey on this forum? Thank you.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... GO STEELERS!!!!!!

p.s. here are pictures if needed to look at.

Any seamstress should be able to do a respectable job swapping the name plates. Finding a Dixon name plate without paying full cost of another jersey is probably the trickiest part.

I have done this with a Kordell jersey, well my wife has. She used a stitch cutter, its a tool sewers use to cut the threads when making a mistake. Its a little time consuming but she did it. I ordered a name plate on NFLshop.com. Im not sure they do specialty name plates anymore, but the commercial says u can customize any jersey the way u want. There also used to be a guy on Ebay, check that out.

I work for a silk screened company and also endeavor in embroidering. I've done this multiple times and is quite easy. You could order any name plate from any jersey clothing magazine that sells sports equipment and such. Go to your local embroidery shop and pick the certain font that the letters require and your local embroidery could easily stitch it and then stitch that sleeve over the Holmes no problem.

Any seamstress charges different, esp givin the type of thread and also how much threading is actually used in the embroider but it shouldn't be expensive whatsoever and you shouldn't have a problem with anything of it being done effectively.

You'll pay the most by purchasing a black nameplate (any silkscreen company could order just a plain black name plate for you ) but other than that, it shouldn't be that expensive. As long as stitching is present, it won't be a problem to un-stitch and re-stitch for future reference.

I had a Kordell authentic jersey some years ago. When we drafted Holmes, I went through the procedure of getting a name plate and stitched HOLMES on the nameplate. It turned out quite nice and the font I chose was as close as you can get.

Now, obviously, I need to change it again with Dixon now wearing 10.

if you remove the "HOLMES" from your jersey, would you be willing to mail it to me for the back of my Chad Pennington JETS jersey? I would pay you for the shipping thru paypal.
