Default eric moulds vs. randel el

for the same amount of $$$ the steelers are willing to offer, who would you rather have? moulds may be a salary cap casualty. this is exactly how the patriots landed rodney harrison at a bargain price.

Nope i dont think the Rooneys would like his attitude for the reason he got suspended thsi season. If he can change his attitude and show that it was a mistake then i wouldnt think hell be a good fit with the steelers.

That a good question... If Moulds were a few years younger I would say him, but I would have to say El at 26 compared to Moulds at 32 years old. Plus, El can do so many more things. At the same time I would like to replace El with a bigger receiver like a Moulds in his prime.

i think the thinking is el is expendable because of bens development and the steelers will evolve into a more balanced pass oriented team especially with an upgrade at wr. personally i dont think the gadget plays need to be eliminated especially with their success rate. these are some intangibles that make el more valuable than just the ordinary #2- 3 wr. i hope el gives a discounted rate. but if he leaves there may be options out there that sneak up on the steelers. the steelers did give c. wilson 2 mil/ year who can easilly replace els #s in the wr depr., and moulds may have some gas in the tank and give significant depth. point is if el does go there are, and will be options out there.

im kind of thinking of him as a better version of terence mathis when he became a steeler. but then again if moulds does wind up as someone like ty law last year. someone we hope we can get cheap on a hometown or reigning champs discound who winds up getting a much bigger deal.

Moulds would be a great capture for the Steelers.

He has been a genuinely loyal player for the Bills franchise during his career - the unrest there going all the way upto the board room has obviously affected his behaviour this year.

This guy would be no problem in the Steelers lockerroom - or any other lockerroom he chose.

I think some people are blinded by what El done with the 'gadget play' in the SB - he is not a No.2 receiver - and the Steelers wont pay over the odds for a No.3 receiver.

Now that the Steelers are Champs they have some tough decisions ahead - the only way El stays is if he agrees to take the self imposed discount to go for another ring.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

His attitude was that he didn't want to be with the Bills any longer. I would take him, but wouldn't put myself in cap heck for him.

1st hes gotta be cut by the bills. i dont have a link or nothing to quote but football instinct tells me the patriots will be licking their chops at the prospects of signing this guy on the cheap and so will alot of other teams. im sure it is an option the steelers will explore just like they kept an open mind about ty law last year. (and remember ty law had some issues with him so people shouldnt think 1 little blow up by moulds in buffalo will prevent the steelers from giving him a look)

I had Moulds in my Fantasy League this year, a good receiver. Buffalo had some issues. My feeling is that he would be a much more legitimate receiver than El, but lacks the bonus(es) ARE brings to the table.

That said, I'm not sure what Moulds will demand, but I think he'd be happy to come here & be a part of a winner. He's got good enough hands that I know he'd be a great target for Ben, and his height alone would be a factor. I've got a feeling he'd make an effort to fit in, and if he didn't, we have a certain bulldog named Joey Porter for locker room policing. :)

If we got Moulds, I'd be very happy.

I dont think they will resign ARE or sign Moulds if he does become a free agent. Next year's top 4 wideouts will be Ward, Wilson, Morgan, and, probably, Nate Washington, assuming no injuries. A draft pick is also possible. There's too many other key players that need resigned in other areas to spend too much on a wideout. Maybe if Moulds was VERY cheap, but I doubt it.

Having big time receivers are not always needed to win championship's. Since the 99 Rams there has not been a team that won a SB that had big time rec's!

00-Ravens-Other than a decent TE not much thereafter
01-Patriots-Good set but no big stand out
02-Bucs-Keyshawn? I would'nt call that big time!
03-Patriots-See above
04-Patriots-See above
05-Steelers-Ward is good but in all just an ok set

I would take moulds, but only If we can't resign ARE. I also think that having Morgan and Ced is not that bad of a set.
