That's the last time I remember the Steelers being down in Tampa to play the Bucs. Lethon Flowers describe the Bucs as paper champions after the Steelers thoroughly trounced them when the Bucs were heavy favorites

Yes, and I remember Kendrell Bell completley rattling Mike Alstott's bell on the goaline, causing a fumble. I'll never forget that hit and never seen Alstott get hit that hard, EVER. Bell would of been an All-Pro if he wasn't so injury prone with his ankle. That dude was a HARD hitter and even rattled Bettis in training camp.

That 2002 game, we were the last to beat Tampa as they went on their way to the Super Bowl. Anyone remember the 2001 game? Didn't we have like 10 sacks?

2001- kordell stewart cried.

EDIT- had to have been 2002 when stewart cried no way the steelers play the bucs play the steelers twice in 2 years.

2002- we mocked them for being paper champions,(warren sapp skipped like a little girl through the steleers warm-ups) stomped a mudhole, and lit a fire under their ass.

No, we pounded the Bucs in 2001 down there. We had like 10 sacks. Porter had a killer game.

I think Kordell cried in '99. Maybe '98 but I'm pretty sure it was 1999.

yep, i was right before my edit. kordell cried in 98.

steelers played the bucs in 1998, 2002 (10 sack "paper champion" game) and 2006 (20-3 ass kicking.).

we only play them once every 4 years, so they werent on the sched in 01.

You are mistaken grasshopper. The 10 sack game was indeed during the '01 season. We went down there and pounded them 17-10. Bettis had over 140 yards on only 17 carries while Porter racked up 4 of the 10 sacks.

Don't forget, before the divisions were realigned in '02, we would play NFC teams every 3 years. Starting in '02, it went from 3 to 4 divisions per conference. We played the NFC Central in '01 and the NFC South in '02. Tampa just happened to move from one division to the other. Their bad luck, I guess, although they did make Lee Flowers eat his words at the end of that season.
